How to insert indents?

I've tried inserting indents in a piece that has already been submitted, but the online editor won't allow tabs (I'm using firefox as my browser) and it ignores extra spaces I insert to represent tabs. What can I do to indent the first line and not the entire sentence?

Forums do not recognize the tab command. As such rather than using indents, for online forums you just double space between paragraphs.

Paragraph [Enter]
[Enter]
Paragrapgh [Enter]
[Enter]

You get the point. Look at some of the stories here on the foruma dn see how their formatted if you need an actual example.

I've got the idea about paragraphs, but what I'm after is how to indent the first line of a paragraph without indenting the whole paragraph. I've used multiple spaces which seem to get removed when I update a piece and as you've pointed out tabs don't work!! What's the other option?

None that I have ever seen or heard of.

Why bother with it? The block paragraph format is used for everything on a forum and there really is no need for indentation at the beginning of paragraphs while using it.

The reason I'm asking is because it has been requested of a story I have submitted; and I understand what I'm being told because without indents what is presented is a wall of words.
Just have a look at the first post of "New - Displaced, part 1." I submitted in the Writers Workshop forum, I think you'll see the problem.
