Labels under names
I wonder what these labels under my name means. (scribe, best seller, addict, etc.) And what is done to earn such titles?
Also what about 'reputation'? One gains points based on what? And is gaining points a good thing or a bad thing?

The title under your name is a preset that has to do with your post count.
Reputation points are given by other members of the site. You can give good or bad reputation depending how you feel about something someone has posted and add a few words of explanation. The system won't let you give that person reputation again until you've given other members reputation. I think most people forget about the rep system, honestly.

Thank you, Foxee. I see I have reputation points. I will make a point of giving someone else points. I have seen many posts that I liked. And we'll see what happens.

Sure thing. If you want to see your reputation points and notes, go to your 'User CP'.

When does your own repping power start to work? Mine is still gray.

I mean when I rep someone else the reps from me are gray. Does that make sense? I don't think I'm explaining it very well.

I'm not sure of this detail of the rep system...maybe someone more knowledgeable than I will weigh in and enlighten us. It appears that any rep that I've received since joining the staff is gray. So either it's who you're giving reputation to or else the colors have been changed, perhaps. I'm really not sure.

How do you get something different under your name? Just ask a mod?

Oh, sorry...I just looked at my rep for the first time since writing the above post (and that was only because I went into my user CP for something else) and a couple of the newer rep blocks are green. So I guess I do get colors.
Lin: Gangsta Rep? LOL! I like it.
