I think she means, always the bridesmaid...never the roving band of pirates.

What are you questioning?
My 'always a bridesmaid'? That's what they wear--tafeta, usually in the form of a hideous gown with a big fat ass bow.
Or did you like my play
on words?
I like playing.
Its fun.
Otherwise it would be work.

Ox's favourite passtime (or at least one of them) is playing spot the taffeta typo/spelling error.

There are two f's?
Man, I'm so going back to third grade!

I'm going to skip the controversy and call it a dress.

Nope, he's right--2 f's in taffeta.
I never knew and I'm a spelling fanatic.
It's the ugly, shiny, itchy, stiff fabric that bridesmaid's dresses are made out of.
You can say dress if you want.

Maybe there are two esses in dress but can anyone tell me how to spell that word, starting with "p-a" and ending with "t-i-m-e", that means activity, pursuit, amusement, hobby?

C'mon Ox, you're ruining a totally good buzz. I know you have something else to gripe about. You always say how nobody does anything worthwhile--but here you sit, read and mock--admittedly a non-writer.
We're just people having a good time. My family is sleeping and I'm up--sleepless as usual--keepin' time w/me homeys!
Try it, you never know--you might actually smile
