Posting problem

I'm having a problem with posting, and wonder if someone can help.

Two day ago, I typed in a first chapter. When I hit submit, the whole thing disappeared. Today, I typed in an opening scene and when I hit submit, I got a message telling me that I was denied access because I wasn't logged in. I had definitely logged in. So, I logged in a second time and was tossed off site altogether. My server shut down. It took four tries to get back on and, of course, when I did, all my work was gone.

What am I doing wrong?

Also, is there a way to copy excerpts directly from my files to save all the typing?

Not sure why this is happening but one thing I would absolutely suggest is to always type your posts into Word or whatever word processing software you use FIRST and then save it. THEN copy/paste it into the reply box on WF. Just in case.

Two possibilities for what happened that I can think of:

In the first case did you preview the page? I've had instances where I previewed the page then accidentally navigated away from it, thinking I'd posted. In that case your post isn't saved and you lose it.

In the second case, if it took you awhile to type in the opening scene you may have timed out. Just because you're typing in the reply box the software doesn't see that as 'active' I don't think.

You can't c/p your excerpts from your original file? What software and computer system are you using? Maybe someone can help you better knowing this.

Foxee,

Actually, I haven't tried to c/p from my original files because I wasn't sure that I could. I'm using Word on an emachine system.

I think, though, that you might have answered my question. If WF does time you out, then that's probably it. I'll try c/p and see if that works.

Thanks for the help.
