Freedom Of Speech
I’ve heard it said that this site is not a democracy, and after my experience yesterday I agree.
In the thread in The Lounge titled “Bring out your Dead”, which espouses a radical form of disposal of human remains, another poster had posited that “the arguments (in the thread) don't even scratch the surface of religious beliefs, which could blow the lid right off this whole subject”.
I attempted a reply. By way of disagreement, I pointed out that as all creeds believe the body and soul are separate entities, believers should be the first to support the notions set out in the original post.
However, I used somewhat sacrilegious and irreverent phraseology in my post. No profanity, mind you, just the forms above.
And the thought police took umbrage and deleted it in its entirety.
(Edit - I replaced it with an anodyne, or bland and insipid, version)
I went and looked up the rules. And nowhere did I find anything forbidding this type of post.
So all I can say is that Nazi-ism at its worst is alive and well in beautiful down-town WF.
What do you think?

I think I just saw your post and think maybe you've been smoking the reefer.

Blatant censorship. It's sickening.

So if I make up some character and pretend he has mystical powers, and anyone doubts him, I can ask for their posts to be deleted?
My pretend god is better than your pretend god!

THAT is creepy! My mail-box 'dinged' with advice of your post as I was half-way through creating a new thread for Debate about ghosts and such. Brrrr.

This is someone else's wall. They can erase what you write if they like.
The appropriate reaction is not:
"How dare you erase what I wrote, you nazi!"
The appropriate reaction is:
"Thank you, sir, for allowing me to write some things on your wall."

Well now. It must have been those naughty pc gremlins again. I've told them often enough to cut it out. They'll get a double dose of AVG and de-frag when I'm finished here.
Sorry.
And Edit - my apologies to everyone else I inadvertantly misled.

Actually I agree with Hodge. It had to be the reefer.
