Would it mind if someone couldn't help posting in “an old” thread?!!

I was digging in the archives (the old threads), and i really liked some stuff that are in there.

I wanted to post, but i wondered if that would cause other members to think that i am bumping the thread, or that the thread has taken it's chance and now it's time for other threads to race at the first page.

Even if the post would be 'that's great'…etc
Would it mind if someone couldn't help posting in “an old” thread?!!

I don't see as it would bother me any. There are no rules about that I am aware of.

But, it might be best to wait and see what others think.

i don't know if 'it' would mind [who/whatever 'it' is] , but some live folks might consider that just 'bumping' if you don't have more to contribute than 'that's great'...

i wouldn't mind, as long as you didn't resurrect a whole bunch of things in one day, thereby shunting all the new stuff off to a back page... one item per section per day would be ok, imo, but not more than that...

TruthSeeker,

the practice of bumping a thread seems to be fairly common,
and tolerated for the most part, here ...

bumping an old thread - sometimes called grave-digging or resurrecting -
does not appear to be against the rules ...
and, arguably, even has merit where a worthwhile post
was lost in the flood of subsequent posts ...
or is worth sharing with newer members ...
(the bumper of course has to decide the thread's worthiness ...)

I would advise some discretion, though ...
some people find a lot of resurrected threads in close proximity
more than a bit annoying ...
especially if they are concerned about reactions
to their most recent posts ...

it might also be wise to expand upon a simple "that's great" post ...
eg - why is it great? (what did you like about it/agree with?) ...

Agreed.
No resurrection, unless it's a genuine reason.

Thanks charlie, mammamaia, cran
It's good to know how others think about this.
