Violence and language
I have read the guidelines but wanted to double check so as not to offend anyone as I know young people use this site. I wish to post a short story that has some swearing and a short part that may be seen as graphically violent. Could you please advise.

I think the FAQ (link at the top) pretty much nails it:
Quote:
If your post is potentially offensive to others, e.g. inclusive of excessive violence or adult themes etc., please put a disclaimer before your work begins. We've created a special bbcode for you to use so your disclaimer is easily noticed: Disclaimer:
Put your disclaimer here
, which will make your disclaimer stand out. Moderators who find a work potentially offensive may add a disclaimer if you have not done so.

If in doubt, run it past one of the staff.
Cheers,
Rob

Speaking of language, I see very explicit language used here on this forum that shouldn't be there in my opinion. In several threads I have perused over the past two days, I have seen a lot.
Is this in the rules? I know in peoples work, it would be condoned, but in actual talk?

Profanity is allowed 'within reason', i.e. at the discretion of the staff. You can always bring it to their attention if you think something is unacceptable.
