Member/Writer/Scribe...

I'm sure this is listed somewhere, I just couldn't find it, but at what point do you go from being a Member to a Writer to a Scribe...so forth. (I'm referring to the title on the forums).

Just curious!

Well, to update, that last post pushed me from Member to Writer, so I see that the transition for that is at 25 posts, but what are the others?

there doesn't seem to be anything beyond 7,000 [which i think is the upper limit], so i've been a 'wordsmith' for ages!... of course, i was already one for many, many years before i ever started posting here, so that's ok with me...

Who cares? It's all silly. It's a built in feature of the php boards and most of them have it. Does posting a lot make you a better writer? Does putting up a hundred posts on a music forum turn you from novice to maestro?

(Shocking answer: no)

It's not a problem...but certainly nothing to think about.

Obviously I am not naive enough to think that the more posts I have to my name, the better I am at writing. It was a question for question's sake.

There we go! One more post to my name! I'm that much better at writing.

It may not be important in the grand scheme of things, but it is fun.

It also shows that people like silver with ridiculously high numbers under their names have too much free time on their hands.

don't know about silver, but since that includes me, the only reason i have a similar number is that i monitor several boards once daily, to see if i can be of any help to anyone... other than that, i don't spend any of my not-that-'free' time on any site, unless doing research for my work... i'm not overfond of the net, can't see how so many can be addicted to it, but do find it very useful in many ways...

I used to. That's why I'm no longer second biggest poster.
