A "sandbox' section
I think this site needs a kind of 'sandbox' section, for quick ideas and stories. Quite frankly, to submit something to the critique and advice section means writing pretty much a final and lengthy prose. In addition, it takes ages for people to critique it because of it's length, and most of course don't bother, only one or two replies stem from most topics.
I want to do this without insticating a 'rate TPAM's story' in the Writing Challenge section or having to extensivly apoligise through a post in the Critique or Ficition sections citing it's 'beta-ness'. I am guilty of this too. (See the 'beginnings of a small story' topic in the Critique and Advice section)
What I'm saying is we really need a sandbox forum where people can type up quick ideas and very short stories, that aren't nessesarily proof-read, but open for quick critism. Once someone's idea has been evaluated, perhaps then they can be 'inspired' to write a full length version for the proper critique or ficition forum.
What do you think?

Also, I was thinking about a "Collaberation" forum too, where members can write and contribute to a story.
I guess that's "writing challenge", though..
Can anyone also tell me if the "Writer's Workshop" forum is what I'm describing in the first post?

Whenever you post, you can specify in the post if you're looking for quick comments, a lengthy critique, etc. People will do what they want, but you'll be likely to get more of the comments you want.
As for number of comments, the quickest way to get comments is to give comments.
"Quick ideas" would probably be best put in the File 13 forum or simply posted with the title and [story idea] in the title.
Also, I think this needs saying: When you say "quick stories" I take you to mean you'd like to post pieces you've just "whipped up". While that is perfectly fine, when you post a piece anywhere on the forums, the people here expect you to have gone through it a couple times before posting. This shows you have respect for not only the people here but for your own work. No one expects you to be perfect, but when you have a good number of mistakes and ones that most word processors would pick up, it's going to turn people away.
And yes, that's a writing challenge. We have a few of those going, I believe.
