to bump or not to bump

Just wondering what the etiquette around here is on bumping an unanswered post is.

A post of mine is sinking fast as seem to have been as attractive as a turd in a swimming pool, and I wouldn't like to be deemed even cheaper and more crass by typing the word 'bump' in there in the hope of more response.

So, that is the question...

Ilan Bouchard is an unknown quantity at this point
There's no official etiquette, but it lacks panache. Alas, it goes; critique others' writings, link to the thread in your sig, and post another piece in the future.

If it's being workshopped, or if you really want a critique (and who doesn't?), PM a Mentor you like with a request, and they're likely to oblige, bumping your piece at the same time.

Thanks Ilan - sounds fair and I would hate to lack panache (not sure about the bold use of the word 'would' in this sentence though!)

Sometimes things do get lost in a flood. I don't see the harm, as long as its not an hour after posting because someone can't wait, or after they've recieved a lot of critiques.
