Workshop Author in control

The workshop has been recently abused by a certain individual and the result was a good number of posts that were not about workshopping but more about flaming, concealed insults and sucking up to make the insults seem like sincere critisism.

I think it would be a very good idea, if possible, to give the author of a thread in the workshop part of the forum moderator control. So that whoever starts a thread can delete any unnecesary posts.

If this system would work (people shouldn't get those moderator controls outside of threads they started), the worst thing that could happen is that people would indiscrimenately delete posts. But since they are threads that are meant to help exactly them, there can be done no harm.

I don't think it is necessary. Just ignore them instead of responding to them. i.e. avoid retaliating against them by doing the same as them.

If you're having problems with a "certain individual" then talk to a moderator or mentor about it.

The thing about this is that when one person makes an unconstructive post and someone else steps in, in defence. Then suddenly the thread is no longer about the work.

That's just spam/flaming and happens to a lot of threads. But mods can delete posts to, so...

Well after some private messages from people that this 'really isn't a problem on this forum', I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and take some good people's word for it that trolls get banned and barred effectively.
