A Question: Critique section

I see in this site that there are separate boards marked 'Critique' and 'Workshop', and people put there generally the same stuff that they could or do fit into the same catagories, and they get reviews in both places. What is the ideal purpose for these specific threads? Is it very important that I put something which I want to have critiqued in one of those, or do the same members travel both? What is the difference between critique and workshopping, and are things in the Workship area deleted so many days after their arrival whether they've been updated or not?
Thanks
C.S.

The difference between Critique & Advice and Writer's Workshop is that nothing posted in WW can be viewed by anyone unless they are a member of the site. C & A can be viewed by anyone browsing the forum. I'm not sure what you mean by updated, but threads in the Workshop are deleted 30 days after the initial post was made.

Writers workshop and Critique and Advice have their respective introduction as to the purpose behind what the two are for.
