green lingering lately?
is anyone else experiencing a major slowdown in page-loading, the last few days?... the green page just sits there and stares at me for quite a while... many times for so long, i give up and hit the back button... most of the time, on the second try, the page opens 'normally'... annoying as bleep... seems to be only this site...
my prob, or the site's?... if latter, can anything be done about it?

I haven't experienced any notable slowdown, nor know of anything at our end that would be causing it. If this is a wide scale problem however I will of course be happy to look into it.

Yes,
I have had some slow downs on mutiple pc's.
It was similar to the previous problem with different pages loading.

I didn't notice a slowdown lately, but I did have the very same, site-specific problem on various occasions in the past. I thought it might be a firewall/pop-up blocker/security settings/anti-virus program problem, or - perhaps - Firefox related. I haven't experienced the problem in a while, but I'm quite used to hitting stop and re-fresh on this site so I might have done it without thinking.
I don't know what it is, but I recognise the symptoms you describe, and for me, too, it's site-specific. |

Actually I'll have to contradict my last post. Tonight it just started slowing up a bit. I haven't been getting a green screen, but there is a bit of time where it does hang a little bit for me while it's loading the ads during which, none of the navigational links will work.

thanks, all!... i'm happy to know it's not just me and my computer, sorry to hear i've got so much company...
fyi, i on dsl [54 mbps most of the time] and use msn... since it's a site prob, i'll just go on putting up with it, and hope the admin can correct whatever makes it happen...

There are a lot, and I do mean a lot, of variables which might impact the connection speed you experience. They might involve the time of day you access the site, your physical location, the ISP you use (and whatever work they might be doing on parts of their system), the speed and stability of our webserver, the efficiency of the forum itself and/or other incidental factors. The best I can do is check to make sure nothing around here has been changed that would hinder the site's general performance. Other than that I'm afraid you'll just have to weather the storm!
