Published Poetry/Lyrics Interpretation & Discussion
I am wondering how I could go about starting a thread dedicated to the discussion and/or interpretation of published works of poetry and lyrics. I would just start one in the Lounge, but as a new work was posted, the old one would get lost in the shuffle. Also, how could we keep track of the last discussion of a potentially re-posted work?
I looked at the Reading Forum and the sub-categories are - Recommended Reading
- Books & Authors
- Book Reviews
- Classic Literature
- Other Reading
I don't see where contemporary poetry, or lyrics would fit in, or where the best fit would be for their interpretation. I think it could be a popular forum if there was a #6 dedicated to discussion/critique.
Also, would such a thing create a copyright issue?

Yes, exactly what I meant.
I'm so full of ideas - maybe Ben Franklin wasn't so fucking special...

it's nice to know mlk was protecting the environment back then!
but what do either of those comments have to do with discussing poetry and lyrics, girls?

I'd be interested in seeing this. Don't think there'd be any hassles with copyright for lyrics (given lyrics are all over the web anyway already), not sure about the poetry.

I vote yes, because then gigi and ms. vodka will have their own thread to contain them so they don't spread to other threads. You have no idea how hard it is to clean up infected topics...

I should think such threads would be most appropriate in the Books and Authors forum.
