have another section for grammar question

if there was another section for grammar ,then question on general grammar would not have to go in the writing and advice section. because i sometimes have some questions on grammar but i don't want to move other post down just for my one liner question .

Buy a copy of Strunk & White. You'll never have to ask the questions again. The forum shouldn't be a substitute for learning the craft.

a sticky with links to good grammar sites [and google!] wouldn't be a bad idea... that is, if we don't have one already

a great one i'd add is:

I believe that's the kind of thing this post is for.

but that's a catch-all listing for all kinds of things and i see nothing there on grammar... what i [and the op?] had in mind was a sticky JUST for grammar and maybe other technical aspects of writing like punctuation... called 'grammar and punctuation guides'?

at the very least, will some kind mod please add that link of mine to the existing list, so perhaps some will find it there and save us having to deal with the same questions so often?

If there isn't, it's because no one has submitted any yet.

Yes, I realized that. I just didn't see the point of having multiple posts of links to things. It seems much more convenient to me to have all the helpfull links in one spot.

There is a listing in the resource guide for 'The Chicago Manual of Style', I think that qualifies as one. I've added the link that you suggested, maia, plus a link to the online 1918 edition of 'The Elements of Style' written by Strunk by himself. Hopefully they will be of some help.

As for a section all its own, I don't feel it is necessary. If a person puts in a little effort, they can find posts in Writing 101 and links in WF's Online Resource Guide. If they don't like those, submit new ones or do a Google search, it's pretty simple.

Kamisama has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I would say create a forum board that redirects to englishforums.com grammar section. That's where I've been at for the past while.
