Plot Puppies Thread
This idea is on other fanfic forums and I'm surprised it's not on here.
Therefore, I suggest a thread/section where we mention whatever idea we're thinking of doing or we've started already. That way we won't have to write whole sections just to get people's thoughts on it. People can then respond with what they think of it, any suggestions, ideas to add, warnings, etc. It could be under the Creative section. We already have a critique section but that's for actual sections of story, not ideas themselves.
Could you make this? I toyed with the idea of starting one myself on here, but I figured I should suggest it and ask first. If it's an official section, more people might be willing to participate.

I, humour-me,
Sign the invisible petition placed before me,
In order to kick some butt with cool ideas
This should also be available to unwanted ideas that are up for grabs. Smart ass people don’t show me the adopt a plot thread, because I have seen it, and it lasted for about two seconds.
Ellen.

I read this, so I went and found the 'Adopt-A-Plot' thread, came back, and read your next sentence. What's wrong with using that thread, anyway? You could just bump it back up instead of making a new one.
Amarisa, you can post story ideas in Critique and Advice if you want. People have done it before, and have had responses.

And the thread you want would last about the same amount of time due to people wanting a new one instead of using what was already there. Besh is on the right track, bump it up and use the "Adopt-a-Plot" thread.
Amarisa, Besh is again right in his answer to you. The Critique & Advice section can be used for posting ideas and getting feedback. There wouldn't be enough participation to justify making an entire new forum in the Creativity section for it.
Ideas are the backbone of a story, but the value of opinions is in the story, not the idea. The idea could be brilliant, but the writing is what makes it into a story. That's what seperates a writer from everyday people--everyone has ideas, but a writer puts the words down on paper to bring it to life.

Hm...
One, thank you all for explaining the C&A section. Now that I know it's alright to do it, I probably will. I was confused because all I ever saw on it, thus far, was snippets. Being on forums so long, I've gotten used to the idea thread and was surprised to see one not on here. With this new information, now I understand why. Thank you.
Two, the main problem I have with "Adopt-a-Plot" is that the writer is giving up an idea of their's and asking someone else to write it. How much different is that from the challenge thread? The Plot Puppies/Bunnies wouldn't be for people to "adopt" the story. If they wanted that, they could use the challenge thread. Instead, it would be for general ideas or rough sketches of an idea that people can help flesh out. It's worked both ways on fanfiction forums, though those didn't already have the "adopt" thread...
But I still understand what you all have said. Thanks for responding so quickly.
