Pawn's fixation with closing
this is a suggestion and i'm throwing caution to the winds. I would like pawn replaced. yes i said replaced. he has taken it upon himself to close threads for no apparent reason other than his own say-so. this is not right there are no rules against threads. the cutting thread i understand it was a debate in the poetry forums but the dance party thread is in the lounge. OFF-TOPIC POSTS WELCOME HERE is that not what it says. Techinally it could be considered a word game. If it is then move it. Pawn is out of controul and has been for some time. I know there is at least one other that agrees PaPa. Please consider this. and no this isn't because I dislike Pawn I think that he is just over-zealous about doing his job. So Admin's please consider this. thank you for your time.

Maybe replaced is to harsh a word. Wouldnt you settle for a repremandation instead? Admins are not perfect and do make mistakes.
Sincerely - J.C

He doesn't seem like that bad a mod to me. Maybe he just made a mistake you know - doesn't this seem a little bit like an overreaction?

Just wait for a mod to comment on this before saying anything rash. I personally have not been a member of this forum that long(2 weeks) so its not my place to say.

Instead of asking for pawn to be replaced or suspended, don't you think the mature thing to do would be to request a further clarification, either from pawn or from a forum admin. person about pawn's reasons for closing down that thread?

The dance party thread was closed because it served no purpose. There are already several "party" threads available, and if people continue to create new ones with no direction or purpose, the forums begin to look cluttured. Next time, rather then publically calling for the replacement of a longtime forum moderator, please PM either Pawn himself, another mod, or our new administrator with your complaints.

I agree with Farror. If you have a specific problem with a moderator or mentor pm them.
Stop clogging the forums with these types of posts.
What went on with PaPa and Pawn was intended as a joke that obviously you still haven't been able to get. Besides, that thread was closed and forgotten a long time ago.
If having your own thread in the lounge is that important to you then come up with something original.
And please, show a little respect for your forum moderators. They have been chosen to moderate for a reason.
This joke isn't funny anymore. Drop it, please.

I have to agree with the other members of staff who posted before me.
Although the Lounge is a place for any type of topic, it isn't there for people to create redundant threads for the sake of having a thread of their own.
Also, reposting a thread deleted doesn't show much respect for anyone on the staff.

If we remove Pawn's staff status, then his nazi avatar would seem out of place.
And we can't have that.

From what I've seen, most, if not all, thread closery and comment deletion has been justified. Still, I think whomever deletes something owes the poster an explanation. When things just start disappearing, accountability does too. The onus should ride on the mod, not the poster to clear things up, especially when the thread isn't explicitly breaking forum policy.

I agree, explanations would be good so we don't get such...anger, but I think all closings are justified. There was a time when the Lounge was nothing but pointless threads(ie: Bhauger and blabs) and I'm glad the mods are not letting that happen again.

I know this has been disclosed why it was closed, and anger is understandable, but again, I'll have to agree with what's been said and say you should confront the person directly. Not shoot other threads out trying to get them banned, or suspended from duty. He did give his reasonings, and I believe, if he felt he wanted to, he could very well stop this thread as well. In all honesty, he, and the remains of the staff, are all doing a very excellent job. I have had a few of my threads stopped as well, and yes, it can be aggrivating, but the moderators do it for a good reason. It's not a hate-crime, it's too keep our WF's from becoming trash. So, I'll have to say, good work Pawn, and the rest of the staff for that matter.

He closed that thread--for what, the fifth time?--for the right reason.
Pawn's like the angry little boy inside of me who wants to play sanitation worker and clean up the sewers that are the random, pointless threads that could be better carried out via PMing other people or chatting. And he does it with style.
Bravo, Pawn! I'd be honored if you'd close one of my threads!
