Althought it seems very useless to use, I believe that is what the Lounge if for. I'm not trying to be mean, or shoot you down or anything, but I think jokes, humor, and all that great stuff fits in the Lounge part. There is a comedy thread or so floating around, although I believe it died down. But otherwise, I don't think this would be extremely benifical to the site, although a good idea. Humor and laughs make the world go round. But, I don't think it would be the best adding another Forum, just dedicated to jokes and humor and so on, when we have Word Games for Jokes, Games, and Riddles, and the Lounge for just about everything else. I hope that helps, or kind of makes sense.
Again, not saying it's a bad idea, but I don't think it the best. Sorry, but that's my two cents.

Oasis Writer, I'm inclined to agree with you. Awhile back there was a humour thread which fizzled out after a short time. It was not surprising, because when you confine humour/comedy to a place where everybody tries to be funny, you can be sure that the result will be decidedly unfunny. And as you rightly pointed out, anyone seeking laughs can already find them in abundance in the lounge and word games.

Yup. Oasis writer, you're on the ball. Though I think, instead of doing nothing,or adding another tedious forum, what if there was a subforum within the lounge, or maybe a sticky?
It wouldn't be for lounge humor, but for straight up jokes. y'know: A guy walks into a bar... stuff like that?
whaddya think?

I don't believe there's any need for that.

i'm with ilan on that... and those who think the only proper place for such stuff is in the lounge... the raison d'etre of this site is for serious writers to display their work and get feedback/advice/info/help, not to be just a 'fun place to hang out'...
those who want to write comedy as a career can put their work in either the fiction or the non-fiction sections, depending on what they write, as neither one is restricted only to writing that isn't funny... that said, professional joke writers know enough not to display their wares before they're sold!
hugs, maia
