word of the week

is it possible to do something to make sure a new word is posted every week?...

it's a shame these can't be kept up... i greatly enjoy the challenge, and some others seem to, as well... even had a couple of new takers the last time... isn't there some better way to keep them coming every week?...

i've offered more than once to fill in the gaps, whenever wednesday comes and goes without a new word being posted, but haven't been given permission to do so, except on one specific occasion... so, i'm loath to just post one whenever thursday rolls around w/o a new one up, minus some 'official' kind of blanket go-ahead...

or, is this worthwhile and fun challenge just being allowed to die out?

love and sad hugs, maia

If you want to participate by writing a short story or poem based on the WotW, go to the appropriate thread in the Writing Challenge forum (we're up to number 30, but you're welcome to go back and try any of the WotWs) to find out what the week's word is. Then--if you're inspired--you write. And whether the result is good or bad, we hope you'll post your efforts in the thread (but it's not required).

If you meant that you would like to volunteer to post a word, PM a staff member and we'll set you up with the next available slot.
