WF Favicon
All the big sites have it, but we don't. A Favicon can really give an extra touch to the site, in my honest opinion.
(for the ones who don't know what Favicons are --> they are the custom icons which replace the default IE-icon)
You can make a Favicon with this program: IconArt (put it up the internet myself, so definitely safe, just click on the 'iconart.exe' file)
Here how to use it:
- First, open the program and set your grid to 16 x 16, this is the required Favicon size:

- Next, begin creating your icon by choosing a color on the right, and drawing your icon in the grid, pixel by pixel. When you're finished, save the icon by clicking the "save as" button. You need to name it "favicon" and save it with the file extension .ico:

- After you've created and saved your icon, you upload the icon into your Web site's root (main) directory. Add the following tag in the head tag of your site:
Code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico">

I'm certainly not the final word on these things. That was just my opinion. I disable them anyway to make my browsing faster and free up little bits of memory.
What would you suggest WF uses as the favicon though?

There appears to be a favicon, but I can't really make out what it's supposed to be. A "v" for vB?

I can make it out just fine.
I quite like the favicon2 one, not a fan of the others.

I am using Firefox, and in Favorites, History and the address bar WF does have the favicon. It is a blue-framed box of gradient sky blue, with a blue wave comes out of the middle left , curving down and then up towards the upper right corner.

So you're offering a way to make indivudualized favicons. Where does one save them to, so that the browsers and the Favorites will use them? YYour advice is only for the web site manager, i.e. the person that owns the server that hosts the forum. The WF owner might not have the access to the root directory.

It can be uploaded everywhere, even on photobucket, as long as that html code I offered is on the page.
