Profile additions
I'd like to see age, name, favorite writer, and a little space for "Biography" added to the Profile.

That would be nice, but can't you just add that by yourself

That also fits with this suggestion. Any more things you would like to see in the profile? I'll make a list and see what I can do.

I have run ALOT of forums, and had quite alot of experence in forum deginer...and the part I HATE is when the people how don't know how to do this stuff think that everything is possible and free on the internet!
Sorry...Im not angry or anything, but that was a good suggestion though!

Um...doesn't the admin just go to the admin menu, find the 'custom fields' button in the 'members' menu and add the new questions in? Thats' what we did on my old ones.
Anyway, is there a good reason my avatar can only be 6kb? That's really tiny. I can't get a decent picture up. Can it be changed, or is there a problem with bandwidth or something?

No. PHPBB doesn't do that. You have to install custom patches to get features like that.
In fact, Chris has got quite a lot of customisation on this forum already, so it's perfectly possible that he'd do this idea too, but it's not as simple as you suggest. Not with the PHPBB forum software, anyway (it is very good software, though, and in use on a lot of sites)

Yes - Partly it's the forum's own bandwidth (the forum has been known to go offline a few times in the past already when it's gone over it's bandwidth limits), and partly for the readers' bandwidth - some people still visit the site on low-speed dial-up lines, and a few big avatar graphics can add a lot of overhead, when all they really want to do is read the writing.
