Ratings system RIP?

Isn't it time the ratings system was scrapped? The number of sad tossers with no idea of what they are talking about seems to be on the increase. I don't mind my work being rated 1/10, as long as the rater has the balls and brains to give me a valid reason.
Thoughts anyone?
Ciao

true...very true...i think it would be better if the rating system was integrated to the comments...that way, only commentors can rate...

Ratings have been updated. Comments & Ratings are not linked, but now you have to log in to rate and it shows who rated (and what they rated). This will remove the drive by ratings. Older ratings can't be resolved to who they were, but all new ratings will have a username associated with them.

Enjoy.

This may not be the appropriate time to ask, so apologies in advance, but... where do I find this rating system?

That's what I was wondering . . . I don't think I've ever seen a rating system on writingforums before, unless you guys are talking about lit.org?

Sorry if I'm labouring a point here Chris, I take it that the 'unknowns' will no longer be possible? It's just that some product of a baboon's backside rated my poem 'Oxygen Mask' 1/10. Two years ago, shortly after my mum's death, I wrote that piece, read it to my friends in a writer's group. It's taken me since then to get myself together enough to let more people read a tribute to her. Then some callous airhead, insults her memory. If it's who I think it is then I'm not surprised, I would expect it from their type.
Cheers

I was wondering if it would be possible to add half marks to the ratings system. I would so love to be able to rate 7.5 or 8.5.

Thanks,

j.
