This is Me Part 1

Okay guys I have horrible writers block right now and this is my atempt at getting rid of it. Part fiction part reality.

They’re gone. Something every high school student dreams of but doesn’t want to happen. It was my freshman year and I was so excited. I was going to try out for cheerleading, I was in the honors program and I was one of the only freshmen excepted into journalism. My whole high school career was planed out and perfect. That is until I heard the news.
My dad, mom and brother, Lance, had gone across the hill, that’s what we call the Sierra Nevada Mountain’s here in Reno, to Lance’s gymnastic completion. It was getting really late but I wasn’t worried. It was snowing really hard and I knew they’d be taking it slow. I went to bed at about eleven thirty. Next thing I knew the door bell was ringing. I looked at my clock as I got up and shimmied into my jeans. 7:00 am. Who would be here so early? I wondered as I tiptoed down the stairs, trying not to wake the ‘rents. As me exhausted fingers fumbled with the lock on the front door I saw a police officer. I opened the door and squeaked “Hello can I help you?” (I’ve always been deathly afraid of police officers)
“Ah yes” he said in a nasally voice. “Are you Deliah LaCroix?”
“Yes” I said slowly. “Did I do something wrong?”
“No, I’m here to inform you that… Um one moment please” he perused some official looking papers, seemed to find what he was looking for and started again.
“I’m here t inform you that your parents and brother. Uh well they…” He paused “They passed on last night. They got in a serious car accident and were killed on impact” In a less official voice he said “I’m very sorry for your loss” But I didn’t hear him I was out cold before I hit the floor.

Nice. I like it, nice writing skills you have there. I like the end "But I didn’t hear him I was out cold before I hit the floor." I think it is the best line in the story.
