Thanks for reading and for your comments, gr8writer (I thought this was long gone! )

Lost and confused is a fair description of the character. In this snippet, I really just wanted to give the sense of tension bubbling under the surface that neither character will openly acknowledge, and also attempt to give the reader a sense of being a fly on the wall during the telephone conversation. I'm still working on it!
