Fero, Polo & Waldo

This is a better version of the same story I'd put on the Critique and Advice forum. A few short 'scenes' from the life of these 3 characters. I'm planning on writing a few more scenes, and making it into a full fledged short story. Anyway, enjoy:

"Well it's about time you show up!" Waldo exclaimed, trying to free himself from a hole in the ground. "Help me get out of here!".
Laughing, Fero walked pass him, and sat near the small fire. "What did you do this time?" He asked, smiling.
"What?" The green-skinned Half-Orc said. "I didn't do a thing! Honestly!".
The Elf sighed. "Right, right. Now...Waldo? What did you do this time?"
Rolling his eyes, still digging up grass, the Half-Orc said in a low tone. "I might've...poked around Polo's bag".
"I knew it", Fero said with a laugh, his brown hair jumping up and down on his back. "It's always just 'poking around', aye?"
"Shut up" Waldo replied, happy he just freed his left arm, his fingernails filled with dirt. "Now, are you gonna help me or not?".
"What are you, kidding? You want me to get stuck in that hole with you?"
"Scared of Polo, hu?" Waldo said with a smirk. "You bet your green ass I am" The Elf replied. "Where is Polo, anyway?"
"Who knows. Somewhere here. Said he needs to 'study'".
"Well, I'm sure he'll be here in the morning. Good night"
"Wait" the Half-Orc said in a worried voice. "You're not planning on sleeping while I'm in this sorry state, are you?"
Fero smiled and got up. "Good night, Waldo". He looked around the grass-filled, empty plain, reassuring himself no one's around, looked at the moon, which reminded him of a green, icky banana, and got into his tent.

Light. 'It can't be morning already', Fero thought. He turned to the other side. Again light.
"By the Gods" the Elf shouted. "Can somebody please turn that light off!?"
"Fero" a figure replied, concealing a laugh. "That's the sun".
Fero sat down quickly, a bit bewildered. "Oh" he said, rubbing his eyes.
Putting on his light-brown clothes and leather armor, he took his backpack in one hand, and got out of the tent.
Waldo was still in his hole, snoring soundly, two arms and a leg already freed.
He looked to his left. A young, green-eyed Gnome stood near him, still trying to control his laughter. He wears a black robe which is clearly too big for him, adorned with white lightning, marking him as an Air Mage. He holds a wooden staff in his hand, which has a black-purple marble on top. The Mage looked at Fero. "Shall I wake him up?".
"Better let me, Polo." The Elf replied. "We don't have the time to get him out of another hole, or mend his wounds when he falls from the sky...".

After freeing Waldo from his hole, gathering their things, and stopping another fight between the Mage and the Half-Orc, Fero and his two companions began to move, traveling to the east.
"When do you think we'll reach our target?" Polo asked.
"Three or four hours" Fero replied.
"And What was the name of that city again?"
"Gurold" Waldo said helpfully.
"Gorhold, Waldo" The Elf corrected. "Gor-hold"

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Put me down, you ninny!" Waldo shouted, flying through the air in loops, following the slightest move of Polo's index finger.
Laughing, Polo replied "Oh look, how cute. Your bald head is reflecting the sunshine".
The half-Orc immediately took control of his flailing arms and covered his head. "Why you..." He called out with a grumpy face.
The little Mage continued to laugh, eventually saying "That's the 3rd time this week you're rampaging through my bag".
"Why I never!" Waldo said, talking as if he was emotionally hurt. "I just stumbled upon it, and my hands slipped inside".
"...Yea, right...Oh, hey there, Fero. Back so soon? How'd the meeting go?".
Scratching the back of his head and yawning loudly, the Elf marched into the camp, which stood right outside the white, fungus-filled city gates of Gorhold. He looked around for the bonfire, which by now was barely big enough to warm anything up, and sat near his two friends.
"Extremely boring, really" he said, yawning a second time.
"I'm off to nap. Wake me up in an hour or two, will you?" Fero asked, crawling into his tent.
"Sure thing, boss" Polo said with a smile.
"Oh" The Elf shouted from inside the tent. "And please drop Waldo already, he looks as if he's about to puke".
"Too late..." The Half-Orc replied, moaning.
The sad expression on his face after puking up breakfast grew sadder as he saw his under-sized black shirt and pants, which he liked to call 'Assassin clothes', get all....wet.
"Oh, really, Waldo" The Mage said with faked disgust, dropping the poor thing to the muddy ground. "Learn to control your bodily functions...".
"I'll give you bodily functions!" The Half-Orc said with anger, cleaning his face with a fast sweep of his hand. "I'll give you bodily functions right in the face!"

***

"Wake up, Fero" Waldo whispered. "Its been two hours".
"But I don't want to go to the doctor, mommy. He's scary!" The Elf replied.
Sighing, Waldo crouched down, caught the Elf by the shoulders, and shook him, screaming "Wake up Fero, it's time for breakfast!"
The Elf jumped out of his bedroll, screaming so loud Waldo got scared and started to scream too.

***

"Relax already" Waldo said after a few seconds.
"Can't you ever wake me up without making me jump out of my bed?" The Elf said, anger clearly in his voice.
"Oh come on" The Half-Orc replied. "It was funny"
"Funny my ass" Fero said. "By the way, where's Polo? He's usually the one to wake me up".
"He's 'sleeping'" Waldo said with a wicked smile.
"Yea......Anyway, wake him up. It's time to go"
"Where to?" Waldo asked, getting out of the tent.
"Silliness Forest" The Elf answered. "We finally got a job"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Umm..." Polo's voice trembled. He caught hold of Fero, and handed him the iron bar. The wooden handle was warm to the touch, but the flat, broad iron end was so hot it almost melted. "You do it" The Mage said. "I'll hold him down".
Fero looked as the mage went over to Waldo, who was sitting on a wooden chair, a huge bloody wound pouring blood from the Half-Orc's right shoulder.
"Do it!" Waldo said from behind his closed, yellow, teeth.
"Umm..." The Elf's voice trembled, much like that of the Mage. He caught hold of one of the Elven soldiers, and handed him the iron bar.
The three companions were at the 'Green Blade' Inn, one of the inns of the elven city of Zelerion. They came here after the fight with the Goblins of Silliness Forest, in which Waldo got his shoulder stabbed.
"You do it" Fero said to the bewildered soldier. "I'll hold him down".
Fero walked over to stand beside Polo, and helped him hold down the big Half-Orc.
The Elven soldier looked at the iron bar, looked at Waldo, and looked at the iron bar again. An expression of understanding and fear covered his face as he looked around, searching for...anyone.
After a couple of threatening sounds from the Half-Orc, and the urgings of Fero and the Mage, the soldier realized what he must do. He cleared his throat, for no apparent reason, took four steps, stood right in front of Waldo, and pushed the hot iron bar into his wound. "That should do it" he said.
Polo's voice started to tremble again. "Umm..." He said, his hands barely holding the Half-Orc, which was now trying to get out of his chair in a frenzy.
"Let him go! Let him go!" Fero said in a hurry, stepping back.
Waldo got up and practically pounced the poor Elven soldier, knocking him out cold. He took a deep breath, and started to laugh, saying "It's his fault for stabbing me with that hot iron!".
Fero and the Mage started to laugh as well, and after a couple of seconds, Polo reminded his two friends. "Don't forget we need to get back to Gorhold, Fero. We still need to get our money".
"Yea" The Elven Ranger said. "We'll leave tomorrow. Those pesky merchants can wait one more day before they get this 'Statue of Fartalot'".
"And what about these 'strong' Elven soldiers?" Waldo asked with sarcasm.
"We'll take them with us through Silliness forest, and then let them get back alone." Fero replied.
"Do you really think they can make it?" Polo asked, grabbing his bag and heading upstairs to his room.
"Unlikely" Waldo answered, following the Mage upstairs. The two laughed as Fero ordered another drink, rolling his eyes.

While Elves and such grow redundant in fantasy these days, this story looks to be a bit of fun. Nice job.
