The Diamond and the Coal

Two young men, one affluently rich and the other desperately poor, argued about their individual futures. The wealth man placed a chunk of diamond on the table and braggingly said: "This is my future!" The poor man took out a piece of coal and put it on the table, saying: "This is my future." Later, the two went their way. After the two men were out of sight, the diamond felt a great yearning to go to its origin, walked up to the piece of coal and clung strongly to it.

Apart from the typo (wealth; ought to be wealthy) you don't deliver an appropriate ending; though I understand what you're getting at. I think the last sentence could be refined in another way making the story more complete.
Apart from that, good work.
