Millwater's Adventure

Millwater's Adventure

A single hunter trudged through the quiet, dimly lit marsh, in the early morning hours. He was on the trail of one lone warthog. Up ahead the warthog, Murky Millwater, saw the hunter approaching. Not wanting to become tomorrow’s roast, Murky immediately went to work on devising a plan. As soon as he had it mapped out, Murky quickly began to put his plan of attack into action.

First, the clever pig dug a hole only large enough for one human leg to fit in. To disguise it he carefully placed two leaves atop the opening. The leaves blended in so well that there didn’t appear to be a hole there at all. Next, Murky grabbed a vine in his mouth, attached a stone to it, and then proceeded to tie it loosely to a tree located on a nearby hill.

The unsuspecting hunter stepped ever closer and closer to the trap. In the bushes sat the malicious hog waiting for the time to attack. When he sensed the moment of reckoning, he made his move. In a flash Murky ran past the hunter and leaped over the hole. So startled was the hunter, that he fell to the ground. Murky ran just slow enough to stay in sight but just far enough out of reach so he wouldn’t be caught. The hunter, not wanting to let the hog escape, followed in hot pursuit.

Only he was not aware of the devious pig’s plan. Suddenly his foot landed in the trap and he sunk downwards a good four inches into the sludge. Mud covered his lower leg acting like a suction cup, which prevented him from escaping. Now the hunter had become the hunted.
Murky made his way up to the nearby hill and grabbed the vine to which he had earlier tied a stone. Down below was the struggling hunter, left at the mercy of one pig, a pig with bad intentions.

In one quick bite Murky let loose the vine sending it swinging down towards the hunter. It slowly arced down into the ditch but began picking up speed as it went along. The hunter still stood struggling to remove his foot from the bog that entrapped him. He only caught a glimpse of the stone before it removed him from consciousness.
