Das heilige - Es ist Heilig. Beziehungsweise, Er/Sie ist Heilig.

eg. Das Heilige Romische Reich. Es ist Heilig...

Depends in which context it's used.

In other words, if it's a person, you can't say "Das Heilige".

However, if referring to a neutral noun in relation to holy - eg. Das heilige Romische Reich (The holy roman Empire), it's acceptable.

Alternatively,

Roughly translated, it equates to the paranormal. In this case, "das Heilige" is acceptable as it refers to a phenomen.

Anyhow, pointless semantics, since it obviously wasn't your intention. Either use "Der Heilige" or "Die Heilige" - whichever gender it is. And keep in mind that "das Heilige" is not really "the holy", but more "The undefined that cannot be explained through philosophic theory, rationale, science or religion and belongs not to this world."

To those who've read this, I've rewritten the whole thing and posted it in the Workshop (I've decided I'm going to try and publish it) Here's a link to the rewrite: http://www.writingforums.com/showthread.php?t=62252
