A funny little find

For those of you who know what woot.com is, (if not, you do now. ), you would know that the gentleman over there who puts up the daily descriptions of products likes to add a little bit of creative writing flair to them. Today's was rather especially intriguing. Just read.

Quote:

Cold, woozy terror shot through Alan's guts as he stared down at the street hundreds of feet below. Look at the fools. People, cars, just rolling along as if everything was fine. But for Alan, things weren't fine. They would never be fine again. A cold gust shoved him off-balance. He steadied himself on the ledge, then chuckled bitterly at the irony of that gesture: why be afraid of falling when that's exactly what he came up here to do?

Alan mumbled a few goodbyes to people who would never hear them, closed his eyes, and stepped off the ledge. Tumbling into the terrifying void, Alan let fear take over, soiling his pants immediately. But Alan felt a strange calm as he fell, the fantastic winds raging around him, the pavement rushing up toward his fragile body.

Maybe things weren't so bad. Maybe all Alan needed was to add one more computer to his home wireless network. Maybe he could find something like the Motorola 54Mbps USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter. It installs in mere moments thanks to USB, and it supports both 802.11b and 802.11g standards. My God! What had he been so worried about? Everything seemed so simple now: he could add a new computer to his network in minutes. Maybe, just maybe, tomorrow would be worth living.

Just then, Alan's limp body crashed to the asphalt. Although nobody could see his face as he whizzed earthward in those final seconds, he died smiling.
hehe. I thought it was rather neat myself. What did you guys think of this? Do you think this type of creative product descriptiveness should be used more? I think so.

(PS. If you missed it the first time I mentioned it, this is not mine. It comes from one of the product posters at woot.com. I just posted it because I thought it was a neat little find and wanted to share it. heh)
