Love

The troops march past the mausoleum. Their faces pulled as tightly as the dead man's skin. He appears ethereal through the glass. Pale light flickering and moving as the shadows filter past.
Georgina watches from the perimeter fence. Her hand inside her coat clutches her breast massaging it slowly as she licks her cracked lips. She had forgotten to put vaseline on them again and the winter air was taking its toll. She turned from the troops. An old man watched her with interest, trying to catch a peek of her breast. She caught his look and removed her hand before walking away across the flagstones. She glanced back once but he wasn't following.
She walked past the old office blocks, their blocks of hand carved stone solidly sitting above the river. Next came the smaller shops, good ones at first. The boutiques, delicatessens and electrical shops. Next came bascic foddstuff shops, market sellers and newsagents and when she reached the jumble shops she knew she was nealr home. Her feet tangled with a piece of newspaper. She tried kicking it away but it stuck like a limpet to her ankle. She squealed in delight as she stopped and jigged her leg around. She began a swift dance routine and finally the newspaper was free. She was almost sorry thet it had decided to leave as it caught the brezze and moved softly to nestle against the side of the kerb.
'Hello Marie.' She caught her breath and looked up at a face which made her chest tighten.
'Hello Riekle.'
He grinned at her and watched as the blood flowed to her cheeks and watching her face blossom. She lowered her head and stared at the floor.
'Don't,' he said gently. 'Don't look away Marie.' He felt his body loosen whilst watching her. Muscles unlocked themselves and he felt like a feather. He didn't know what to say and his eyes watched the top of her head, examining the centre parting and seeing himself fall through the valley of her hair. Further and further he would fall, straight down into the blackness, until finally he would grab one of the hairs and bounce up and down in mid air before making himself a little nest.
She looked up at him. 'What are you thinking?'
He sighed. 'I'm thinking how beautiful you are that is all.' She smiled at this and looked away in embarassment. He caught a glance at the gap in between her front teeth and knew that he loved her. She in turn watched the way his chin dimpled as he smiled, and the manner in which his eyes flickered with energy and kindness.
'We're going to be together aren't we?' She whispered softly to him.
His heart fluttered in his chest as a glorious feeling washed over him.
'I hope so.'

Penelope is an unknown quantity at this point
I just wanted to see what someone would write about love. You captured the immediacy of emotions well. Please correct your typos though. It detracts from the charm of you piece.

Yes, maybe I should have gone over it with a spellcheck. Thanks again!

A humourous but very sweet image.. I've not heard this used before.. very well written... I enjoy the way you describe him looking at her.... but was spoilt a lilttle by the 'just looking at how beautiful you are' i'm not sure that this was the right comment to make.. but very good...
