    A quick question.

    Hey guys,

I just had a quick question to do with plays etc.

What would you write if a character is seen that the viewer knows, but with a different name and totally oblivious to anyone around him.

    E.g

(The bearded man slowly opens the door)

    Bearded man: And you are?

    (Man walks in)

    Man: I am Gary O'Sullivan

    -

But if the man was actually Jack Thomas just in a different name, and the viewers knew that, how would I describe that in the directions?

Sorry if it sounds amateur, but this is for a small project I'm doing, and I'm very new to writing scripts.

    Tom.

The character name follows the actor. So the guy at the door is
    THOMAS

    Possibly something like (As O'Sulivan)

But why. We know who he is, that's he's mis identifying himself.
