If your script is already the appropriate length and you can't add more length... you have to subtract from your friend's lines. You shouldn't be adding any more at all, but working with your friends to reduce their lines and modifying a few for your character. Not only will this give you lines within the time frame, it will reduce the overall line goal as you take lines from your friends.

So, I would contact them. They might not care, but they will when you reduce their lines.
