Here he goes again...
I'm thinking a logline is a good thing to nail down before you do anything else. It's your story in a nutshell. I'm seeing it as the "seed" from which a story will grow.

Does anyone else agree with that? Or am I crazy?

It's your story condensed to the maximum. You get a good logline, you have something concentrated to work with that can withstand some "spreading out"
