Dorjan turned back and nodded yes, still a little shy.

Xanthia smiled for the first time, the older boy seemed friendly enough and the others seemed as shy as she felt.

"I too am happy to be going," she said, "I am Xanthia Malfoy. When I was small I thought I'd be going to Durmstrang or possibly Beauxbatons but when we moved to England I was accepted at Hogwarts." she told the group, stroking her Owl's feathers softly as she spoke.

Trav smiled as Xanthia spoke, "Ahh, so your another malfoy, I hope your nothing like you relitives, No offence or anything there hun" Turning her head she looked at Alexis,
"you haven't said anything yet girl, speak up" Alexis shook her head,
"Sorry, I'm Alexis Wolff, and i really don't like talking to overly obnoxious older boys"

Xanthia smiled to herself at Alexis' answer. This new older boy was a little cocky. But he seemed a decent sort. So now she knew the names of all her companions bar one.

The children bantered back and forth as the train pulled out of London on its journey north, full of students of magic.

"What House are you in?" Dorjan asked the older boy quickly, before a fight erupted between he and Alexis. "They told me we get sorted into Houses when we arrive."

Trav grinned, "I'm in Ravenclaw, and yeah you do, but don't be scared about it, despite what most the older guys will say, it doesn't hurt all you do is wear a hat, it doesn't take very long" He grinned around the group,
"So what houses do you guy hope your sorted into?"

Dorjan was immediately relieved about the sorting, and he could see by the expressions on the girls' faces they seemed to feel the same way.

"My father was in Slytherin when he attended Hogwarts." Xanthia commented. "Mother went to Beauxbatons so different entirely. I do know my family has a proud line of Slytherins on my father's side." she said. 'Which I hope to break,' she thought to herself, 'I've had enough of all the Slytherin talk at home.'

"I don't know what the houses are. Slytherin? Ravenclaw? What do they mean?" Dorjan asked, really interested in the conversation at last.

Trav grinned, "Well, i'd better fill you in there haddn't I" He looked over at Alexis who was sporting a similar confused expression,
"At hogwarts there are 4 houses, Griffendor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and slytherin" He spat the last house's name out, "When you start you are sorted into one of the four houses and they will be your home base, you will live and eat with the people in your house" Trav grinned, "And that's all there is too it"

"Oh," Dorjan was confused, "What's wrong with Slytherin?" he asked.

Before the older boy could say anything Xanthia spoke up.

"They say zat every evil Witch or Wizard in Britain came from Slytherin 'Ouse." she answered quietly, "Zose sorted into Slytherin are said to do anything it takes to achieve their ends."

She sighed. "My father says it is a 'ouse of noble ideals and zat Slytherin produces great Wizards and Witches. He told me that you are sorted based on your ability and your best attributes."

Trav sat back in his seat nodding,
"The girl has a point boy, you wanna stay away from that house." Trav paused his cocky grin returning,
"But in my opinion aim for Ravenclaw, we're the best house there" He laughed as Alexis shook her head meeting Trav's gaze,
"I hope all boy's at hogwarts arn't as cocky as you are." She said with a smirk before turning her head to look out the window.

Izzy listened to the others with interest. She knew most of what the older boy was saying, her mother having taught her a little about Hogwarts. She hadn’t heard much about the Malfoy family, however, but Xanthia didn’t seem particularly unfriendly, as the other boy had implied the family to be. Slytherin House though … Izzy had heard enough about Slytherin from her mum to hope she wasn’t sorted into that House.

“My mum was in Hufflepuff when she was at Hogwarts,” she provided now. “She said it was a really good House to be in. But nearly everyone wants to be in Gryffindor, don’t they?”

Trav nodded, "yeah, cause that's the 'brave' house, or something, but don't think on it, you guys will be sorted into the houses which suit your personalities and don't let people put you down no matter which house your in" he smiled at the girls and relaxed a little.

"I think," Xanthia supplied, "It is because 'Arry Potter was in that 'ouse."

Dorjan nodded immediately. "Yes, I read about him, he's really famous isn't he? Because he defeated Voldemort 11 years ago, the year I was born. He was a great Quiddich player too." he wanted to show he wasn't completely ignorant of the Wizarding world. He'd done a bit of reading at night after lights out once he'd bought his school books.

"Slytherin isn't all bad." Xanthia piped up, "Professor Phineaus Nigelus was a Slytherin, as was Professor Severus Snape of 'om they speak of quite highly."

Alex left the compartment to do his rounds but returned in time to see his younger brother, Travers, talking to some younger students. Alex smiled and got Travers from behind, putting him in a headlock as he administered a noogie,
"Travs you slimy bugger! Mum still wants me to give you a telling off for the accident back home. That little house elf is traumatised!" he laughed before noticing the younger students, "Making friends at last Travs?"

Looking up in suprise, Xanthia watched the teacher act most unteacherlike, greeting the older boy with the familiarity of a brother.

Dorjan couldn't help but laugh and he felt himself relax some more, perhaps not everyone would be so strict as his imagination led him to believe.

"Damn it bro let go of me" Trav growled attempting to push his older brother off of him,"Come on Alex let go, this is so not cool" when he managed to get his head free her mock growled,
"well, it's that little house elfs fault anyway, she dared me to do it"

After the initial shock of seeing a teacher grip a student in a headlock, Izzy was able to understand enough of the conversation to realise the two were brothers and relaxed back into the seat. Dorjan's laughter was also infectious, and Izzy found herself giggling quietly.
