Your Opinions On This Possibly Future RPG...

    Hey RPers,

Now I understand that this probably isn't a good place to post a thread like this, but if I post it anywhere else it will get spammed with RPG-Haters etc., so I shall pursue with it on this section of the Forums.

In the near future, I hope to make an RPG, but first I wish to know if it would be a bad idea to do this due to plagiarism.

I've just finished watching Terminator 3 again (Terminator is a film and TV passion of mine) and realized I would love to RP as a Terminator. So here I am, wondering what you guys would think.

With the new RPGs out now, it wouldn't be yet, but would it be a bad idea to do a Terminator RPG? It wouldn't be about John Connor, but maybe other important roles in the resistance. Maybe it could even be the Future.

Would you join? Is it just generally a bad idea?

I'd love to hear your comments,

    Nick

I like the idea (T2 is my favourite ).

I don't think it would be plagiarism. I mean think of all the pieces of fan-fiction floating around the internet. All the authors have to do is add a disclaimer at the top and it is automatically an original piece of work inspired by the movies/ tv series.

If you want my opinion I think it would be best to do it modern times so that it isn't all just fighting in a future wasteland as that particular scene can get pretty boring. but I'm in

Yeah, I have a good idea if we were to do it. A couple more good opinions, then I'll get started on the storyline etc.

If you want to make a fan fiction, then go on and do so. Just if you use any of the original characters, state they they belong to their respected creators and what not. That way your covered if someone does try and bring a case against you. Which i highly doubt.

except number two. Number two, in my opinion, was better than the first one.

Right, I did a little research, and the Terminator's that you could possibly be are:

    - T Model 101 (Arnold Schwarzenegger's model).

    - T-1000 (The enemy Terminator from T2).

    - T-X (The enemy Terminator from T3).

The average Terminators. More Terminators will appear as Non-MCs.

In the affairs thread I will tell you what they can do.

well if you've seen the films it's pretty simple (he says pulling up a wikipedia page).

T-101 are super tough. Walls are nothing, reinforced glass is nothing and bullets has limited effect.

T-1000 are made of a liquidy metal that's sometimes solid. Can form simple weapons from body parts. Can reform if liquid parts are close enough to each other.

T-X has a flamethrower, rocket launcher and laser cannon thingy that comes out of the arm. also is incredibly strong and durable.

    Or, this:

T-101: It looks like a human, but will have a large build due to the endoskeleton. Due to it's eye-scanner, it can notice things better. It is durable (like Nefi said, walls etc.) and is strong (due to metal skeleton) and it can also mimic voices it hears. It feels no pain (or anything, actually). Also, bullets will not harm it unless they are shotgun (at which it gets down to the metal skeleton, but does not penetrate it) or multiple bullets (like, 5 people with machine guns.)

T-1000: It is made from Mercury that can be made solid on the outside, but not in the inside. It can mimic how people's looks, voice and is immune to bullets (shotguns slow it down, but doesn't harm it). It can reform if the metals are close together (very quickly). It is strong, but not as strong as the T-101.

T-X: Is a mixture of the T-101 and the T-1000, with some extra. It is stronger and more durable than the T-101. It's endoskeleton is covered in Mercury, which can merge with the skeleton allowing it to - not only reform from damage - but also take the image of anyone it sees. There are too many weapons for me to name at the moment, but some are: some kind of electrical plasma blast?, a flame-thrower, a strong EMP, multiple guns... and many other things that can do serious damage.
Can I also just point out that in T3, only the T-1000 and T-X can be messed up seriously with the magnetic force.
Oh yeah, and the T-X can send microscopic computerized organisms into mechanical things, letting her control them, but not from too far away.

Due to the open god-mode on TX, I'm allowing only one other T-X, and that is one that has been re-programmed for the Resistance.
I'm gonna take the other T-X (>) but that doesn't mean I'm going to god-mode. I'll be good.

Also, I have to make sure that there are people in the RPG. Not everyone can be a Terminator, I'm afraid, but I may let people be a resistance fighter and a Resistance T-101.
