James smiled,
"I know the feeling." he said tenderly and hugged her, holding her close, "I know that feeling very well."

Flare nodded fighting down the tears as she shut her eyes and pretended to sleep.

James hugged her tightly and kissed the back of her neck,
"After years of coming home late I know when you're just pretending to be asleep."

Flare sighed, "I don't want to loose you James ever" She said quielty still not opening her eyes, slowly starting to actually fall asleep.

James rested his chin on her shoulder,
"And you never will Flare."

"you promise, James" She said quietly, startign to loose her fight to sleep.

James squeezed her tight for a second,
"As God is my witness. I will not leave you."

Flare smiled weakly, "Thank you james" she whispered as she finally fell into an uneasy sleep.

James kissed the back of her neck again but didn't fall asleep. He'd always had trouble sleeping when he had something troubling him and this whole situation was something that made him feel uneasy.
