Since reading about Georges Perec and the way he 'generated' the path of Life: A User's Manual (good job I did, I'd spent ages trying to work out if there was a hidden code to it), I've been toying with an idea along similar lines. Basically, what I'm looking at is using the shuffle function on my walkman to generate a short story. All I need to do is come up with a rough outline, starting with, for example 'An Introduction' and ending with 'Resolution'. Then for each section, I would write down the tracks as they are randomly generated and use either the title, or the mood of the track to influence the section of the story. As you can tell, it's an idea in it's infancy, but I just thought someone out there might like to try it for themselves (or, if anyone's tried it, let me know how it worked out).
