Whats this RPG thingy?

I know RPG stands for role playing game, but I just dont get it on the forums??

Someone comes up with a story idea. If people are interested they post a profile of a character. On the forums it's basically a collaborative story in which you can only write from your character's POV and cannot control what the other characters do.
