    The New RPG Affairs Thread

Okay, this is to be the official New RPG Affairs thread. I’ll update every few days with current character locations & plot, so hopefully no one will get lost. There is a complete summary of everything that’s happened at the end, plus character profiles. This thread is where you should ask any questions, so no spamming the RPG, please!

    ******

    Rules
(realised I forgot these - just so everyone's aware)

    - No Godding (i.e. making yourself invincible, or overly powerful)

    - No controlling other people's characters, UNLESS you have gotten their explicit permission and have contacted me to say you've been give the okay. Also, give other people's characters time to react if you're planning on involving them in anything.

    - Limit yourself to two or three posts per conversation each, and wait for the others to post before moving the action on.

    - If you've posted and no one else is on do not panic. That's the magic of forums. It doesn't have to happen overnight. Please be patient and WAIT rather than simply adding for the sake of adding. If no one seems to be posting myself, Slayer or Foxee will post a plot advancement trigger.

    - Finally, when posting bear in mind what other people have posted before you and what's happening at the time of posting in the story. Try to have your characters react realistically. I realise we all have unique storylines for our characters but we don't have to divulge them immediately or all at once. Try to restrain yourself and bear in mind the overriding plot.

If you have any questions, comments or complaints, please contact via PM or post here, rather than spamming up the RPG. THANK YOU.

    Background:
Grew up in a small village where her parents ran an inn. Her elder brother instructed her in swordfighting. Her magic developed when she was fourteen, and when she was fifteen she left for the nearby city, Eren, to learn how to use it. Appearance:
Skye is 5’4” and willowy. Her hair is dark brunette (worn long and slightly wavy) and her eyes a clear light blue, appearing nearly colorless in some lights. Usually she layers her clothing with boots, trousers, and blouse (all earthtones) beneath a simple feminine robe (somewhat brighter colors), this allows for quick changes if necessary (such as when needing to disappear).

    Background:
Skye is, by habit, a survivor. Orphaned at a young age she ran with a pack of other orphans in the streets of a large city, pickpocketing to survive. When she was twelve years old, the gang was rounded up and sent to the homes of minor nobility to work as servants. They were never to see each other again.

The family’s music tutor delighted in her innate talent for music (which the daughters of the family did not possess to any degree whatsoever) and taught her when her chores permitted.

As she grew up, Skye stole and fenced many small articles so cunningly that she was never caught. The money from these items she saved for the day when she would be a free woman, when she would take a last name for herself of her own choosing. That day has now been four years ago and she has been earning her living here and there with music, stealing only when she must or if she feels she needs to keep her hand in.

Skye is seldom what she appears to be. Even she doesn’t know who or what she really is.

Mano came by his trade as a youth, apprenticing with his father and uncle, first at the bellows and working his way up through the processes until he became a Master. Mano had been know for years as the maker of mystical weapons that had almost legendary status.

Always a humble man, Mano, quietly does his work without saying much. However, Mano has a keen eye for what’s going on around him…missing little! Before leaving Mano’s humble shop he has uncannily assessed the real and the hidden personality of the customer. In the evening Mano can be found sitting quitely in a dark corner of the towns local "watering hole" (pub), sipping his brew and watching those around him. Watching and learning.

    Alexx

Her older brother was sold to a different master, and soon contracted an illness. The pair met up after Alexx had been baled out of slavery by one of the soldiers serving her master.

Alexx had always had the skill to fight and began just entering tournaments to pay for her brothers medication. After that she began to get offers and slowly fell into Assassination. She is not proud of what she became, and is looking for anyway, anything or anyone who can help her break free of what she has become.

Alexx also has a demonic pet wolf that is a loyal and worthy helper.

    Rufus

    Name: Rufus Syr
    Age: 20
    Gender: Male
    Primary Skill: Archery/Hunting
Secondary Skills: Trapping/Snares, Fletching, Carving, General Survival Skills.

    Appearance:
6’0 in height. Even though he is quite young he has silver hair which comes down to just below his eye line. His skin is quite pale; his eyes are a vivid blue. Rufus’ arms and legs are corded with muscle; having spent most of his life in the forests and woods of the land hunting. He has a set of scars along his lower arm, where a bear mauled him as a child.

    Background:
Rufus Syr was born in the wild; on the way between two places of civilisation. His mother died in childbirth and his father looked after him for three years in a small hunter’s village. On his third birthday Rufus’ father was called to defend a near-by village from demons. He never returned. After that Rufus was brought up by the good-will of the villagers. As soon as he was old enough to hold a bow and a knife he taught himself how to hunt. By the age of eleven he was quite capable of looking after him self and even traded some of the meat he caught. He became the best hunter and trapper of his generation. One day he was caught unawares by a grizzly bear and was seriously injured. The villagers had heard the commotion and beat off the bear, saving his life once again. All through his teens he was forever helping his saviours. But tragedy struck once again. While he was away hunting with some fellow villagers the village was over-run by demons. He vowed revenge so he travelled to the Fort-city of Serin.

He entered the gauntlet and survived.

    Vahn

    Name: Vahn Imair
Race: Nordir (type of generic combat oriented elf, heals quickly from minor injuries, can see well in both light and dark, can actively tune out noises, doesn’t sweat. Hates Sudir (generic high-elf mages) with a vengeance.)
Age: 50 (elves age differently to humans, so he’s 25 as they reckon things)
    Gender: Male
Primary skills: Close combat (swords, axes, knives), demonology (know the enemy, burn the enemy).
Secondary skills: Archery (bows), general tracking and survival, alchemy (potions, poisons, etc), basic enchanting (runes, blessing arrows and such), basic armour and weapon maintenance.

    Height: 8ft (he’s an elf)
    Appearance:
Green eyes, slightly tanned skin, slender, muscular build, close cropped hair the colour of obsidian, lobeless, upswept ears, three parallel scars over his left eye, various other scars and burns across his body. In the traditions of his people, he wears a metal half mask, fashioned as a mouth and jaw with a sombre twist, concealing the lower half of his face. Exudes an aura of stern confidence.

    Background:
Born 50 years ago, Vahn Imair was raised and trained to survive by his parents in the cold lands of Ariain in the north. At sixteen, he was brought to the fortress city of Serin, as was tradition. There he donned the half mask, and was taught the full shame of his race, that they had once ruled the lands to the south, but had failed to close the demon gate and fled, and that as long as a single demon lived on in the south they would remain unforgiven; a broken people doomed to wander the lands as mercenaries, bandits and hired blades.

Continuing his training, he became an apprentice with the Knights of the Covenant, a Chapter of the Order of Islen, swearing the oaths along with the other apprentices. It was the Knights’ sacred duty to slay the demons and the enemies of Islen whenever and wherever they raised their heads, and he took to the training with enthusiasm and righteous zeal, inscribing his weapons with the litanies of hatred, blood and vengeance, and becoming a squire under Sir Sagor Blackash, a mighty human from the port city of Eren and Black Saint of the Covenant, at age twenty.

By thirty, he had participated in two crusades to retrieve sacred artefacts from the grip of the demons, and had aided in putting down a number of heresies in the kingdom heartlands. Released from his duty to Sir Blackash, he was proclaimed Knight-Errant of the Covenant, bestowed with a copy of the Codex Demonica, and the Tear of Islen. This ruby, shaped and scaled like a single, smooth teardrop and hung upon a silver chain, and the tome, which contained all of the chapter’s demon lore, were the symbols of the chapter, and with them came the honour of sealing his armour with the litanies of faith and purity.

His ascension to Knight-Penitent fifteen years later was a far less glorious accomplishment. After signs of rebellion and heresy had been discovered in his homeland of Ariain, Vahn was part of the army under Sir Blackash sent to quell it. Over a two-year period, they sealed off the countryside and put every town, village, and home to the sword, purging the heresy with holy fire. It was there, over the ashes of his former home, that he was handed the crimson, sleeveless robes of the order. Putting them on over his armour, he stood with the rest as the Chaplain, under the watchful eye of Blackash, did pull their hoods up one by one, and ordained them Brothers of the Order of Islen, and Knights Penitent of the Covenant.

Returning to Serin with a heavy heart, he resolved to undertake a warrior pilgrimage into the southern lands in the hopes that the blood of demons would cleanse the taint he felt upon his soul. Gathering what supplies he would need, he was less than a day south of Serin when he heard the unmistakeable cries of demons mixed with the sounds of battle to the east. Riding at full speed, he arrived at the village to find that the battle was ended, the demons reduced to blood and ash by the strange assortment of warriors before him.

    Karin

    Name: Karin Ilaluta
    Age: 18
    Gender: Female
Primary skills: basic swordplay, alchemy (potions, poisons, etc)
Secondary skills: basic enchanting, basic healing
    Height: 5ft

    Appearance:

This woman has deep-set eyes the colour of the evening sky. Her luxurious, wavy, black hair is worn in a style that reminds you of the aurora Borealis. She is short. Her skin is light-coloured. She has a small mouth. Her wardrobe is artistic and strange, with a completely violet and black colour scheme.

    Background:

Karin Ilaluta was born 18 years ago in a small town by the sea some miles north of Erin. Karin's parents, who owned a number of small boats, taught her to swim and fish from a very young age. Given the rough nature of the town, and the people that passed through, she was also taught how to handle herself, and the value of a sword.

At sixteen, she was finally allowed to leave the town, and travel the lands beyond, but it was only when she visited the fortified port of Erin, that she realised how small her home had truly been. Suddenly stricken by a desire to see and learn more of the rest of Islen, she packed her things and booked passage North on a merchant vessel.

The vessel docked in the port town of Neringard, Karin apprenticed under the local apothecary to earn some travelling money. Intrigued by the many and varied types of potions and their uses and effects she decided to learn more of the craft and ended up staying in Neringard much longer than she had planned.

It was after a year that her desire to travel had returned. When a religious group came to town to resupply for their journey south when she seized her chance and joined them. She spent the next year journeying with them, giving aid to the frontier villages and learning the blessings that the order used to protect homes from evil.

Hearing of the Serin mages' proclamation and intrigued by the promise of adventure it held, she made preparations to leave the order and travel to the ceremony at Serin. The leader of the order, though saddened to see her go, recognised the purity of the quest. Gifting her a fine sword and what supplies he could spare, he bade her make haste to Serin with his blessing.

At Serin she accepted the mages challenge, faced her soul and was proclaimed a hero with the others who survived the task. Though she was too late to join in the initial defence of the village, she and the others made all haste and arrived shortly after the battle had finished.

Having seen the destruction that the demons had caused first hand she was now certain that the demon gate had to be closed at no matter the cost to her. She spent the rest of the day helping with the dead and the wounded and stood with the other heroes that evening when the elder called Aidan gave his speech.

    Kinareth

    Name: Kinareth
    Gender: <ale
    Height: 6'0"
    Age: 24
    Primary skills: Swordplay, quick reflexes
Secondary skills: Has amazing fitness and is an extremely good runner, both long distance and short distance.
    Weaknessess: Archery

    Background:

Born to a warrior family he has been trained all his life (think Spartan warrior) and is excellent with his weapon of choice, the sword. He answered the summons to Serin as he has been trained as a warrior and warfare is all he knows, as a boy he would test himself often in terms of strength and endurance and is thus stronger and hardier than most humans.
In his culture position is not hereditary and the esteemed one held by his father and his family was one he had to fight to preserve, he came to be known as the greatest young warrior in the area., as his father had been.
His father was killed defending his family against hordes of demons and his mother has been lost to him ever since that day, he had only one sibling, a sister he can remember nothing of, that part of his memory is completely blank owing to a head injury sustained in the same battle.
Due to being raised as a warrior, pride and honour are of the utmost importance to Kinareth, to endure an insult is something he will only do if he feels strongly about something or feels that it cannot be avoided. His armour, helm and sword are his most prized possessions, given to him by his father.

    Appearance:

Long black hair, green-grey eyes tinged with purple. He has a lithe and athletic build with sinewy muscles that are still strong as steel. Wears silver armour gilded with sky blue and carries a shield with the emblem of a wolf on it. His helm is clear steel with wings emblazoned on the cheek guard and a nose guard.
His sword is made of pure, tempered steel, thus making it harder than a normal sword, the hilt guard is two wings spread out as if about to take flight, made of steel the colour of gold, the hilt is fashioned in the likeness of a wolfs head, two deep-set red rubies acting as eyes, the wolfs head is silver steel and the pommel consists of two prongs, yet again the colour of gold that can be used as a weapon in themselves.
Kinareths father made his sword for him and he inscribed a message on the blade for his son, something Kinareth keeps to himself and tells only those he trusts most.
Kinareth also carries a knife for use in close combat but will always prefer to trust in his sword.

    Ryde

    Name:Ryde
    Age: 19
    Gender: Male
    Primary Skills: Combat
    Secondary Skills: Self control

    Appearance:

Ryde has ice blue eyes and a smile that would frighten a young child. His hair is like fire, the red strands flickering as the wind hits them and hiding his right eye. He has a muscular build, broad shoulders, showing muscles. Ryde is around 6’1”, rather tall for his age. But, he is unlike other children of his age; he’s a lot more mature and doesn’t enjoy the same hobbies. He wears a red V shirt, ripped near the bottom. Over is a jacket, also red, embedded with little wooden crosses up and down. His Trousers are black, patches over the places that had been ripped like his shirt. Upon his head, a black beret, one of Ryde prized positions.

    Background:

Ryde was brought up in a poor orphanage, where he gained no friends but total control in himself. From the age of 7, he spoke only when it was important, and when he was forced to. The only thing to remind him of his parents, his mother in particular was a beret. It was black and smelt like her perfume. While staying at the orphanage, he was beaten badly. To defend himself, he taught himself hand combat and stole many weapons off the people he hated so. At the age of 15, Ryde decided to run away, ending up out of the city and into the wilderness.

    Rafael

    Name: Rafael Werey
    Age:577
    Species: Wilderness elf
    Gender: Male
Attributes: Water magic, amazing dagger skill (both throwing and hand to hand combat)
Weakness: Not very strong; no extra elf powers and vulnerable to long range attack

    Appearance:

He is reasonably young for an elf approximately equal to a 23-5 year old human. He is quite lean and not incredibly strong and is reasonably quick (although very slow for elf standards). He is quite tall, 6 foot 4. Rafael has a light, golden-brown, lock of long hair. He has dark brown eyes.

    Personality:

He is very cheeky and energetic. He is also rather light fingered! So heroes watch out! Being a wilderness elf he is a vegetarian and refuses to kill.

    Background:

He was brought up in the wilderness a tough elven baby. Unfortunately though as a small child he was bitten by a werewolf. Elven babies are hardly ever bitten and are hardy to the bite. The elven people worked on him day and night for a week on end and managed to free him of the curse but at a terrible price. All his additional elven powers were dramatically reduced. He was now equal to humans although he still had longevity of life and is quicker than all humans (although not by much). He also still has advanced sight, hearing and reaction time that is greater than an elf's level (they were advanced further by the bite). In result of this he has given himself a new race, he calls himself a welven. This has knocked his confidence as a child which meant he focused much of his time training with his daggers and water magic although mostly with the daggers because these were his favourite. He became amazing in this field. As he got older his confidence grew and he travelled. When he was 203 he spent the next 257 years of his life among Humans were he spent much of the time where he spent time with a gang of thieves. He found a home there but always refused to take a life; he never lost his sense of elven morals (well most of them). Although he did learn alot of under hand tricks with his daggers and in petty theft. He had a high place among the thieves of the Gryech in. He kept his position for the 246 with the thieves and in the time he became a legend feared by those who opposed the thieves. He greatly enjoyed his time with the thieves until it was cut short when the leader, who Rafael was friendly with, was killed in a revolt against the thieves by the guard with most of the other thieves. The guard's personal profits paid the price severely, he made sure of that, but he would not kill. Then he went back to the wilderness, to his people and took his place among the wild elves.

    Va Poor

    Name: Va Poor
    Age: 22
    Gender: Male
Primary Skills: Shape shifting or morphing
Secondary Skills: Weapons handler…schooled under the Amoratie, Va Poor can fabricate, and handle most weapons with ease.

    Appearance:

At 5’ 8" in height and medium build he easily disappears in a crowd. His looks are average Islen islander in appearance with light brown hair and blue eyes. He dresses in standard Islen style, again blending in easily, a great trait in many occasions.

    Background:

Va Poor was selected at an early age to study under the Amoratie. The Amorite’s are a mystical group that have long trained and prepared young men for the day that they would be needed to help fulfill the prophesy.

Upon returning from his training he was assigned to Mano’ Duro as his mentor and trained in metal forging and weapons fabrication. Va Poor lived with Mano and his wife, Esposa, and has developed a father son relation ship with Mano.

    Sonny

    Name: Sonny Long
    Age: 27
    Gender: Male
Primary Skills: Close combat, absolutely brutal with a club that has long nails driven through the end, and lethal with his 13" double edged hunting knife.
Secondary Skills: Boobie traps. Specifically ones involving torturous drawn out deaths, relying mainly on spikes, blades and general shredding utilities.

    Appearance:

6"1, very closely shaved head, extremely well toned arms that seem almost out of place against his rather thin bodily frame. His eyes are blood red, and he has been branded on the back of his neck with the words 'Ad vitum', meaning 'For Life'. He wears large a large bearskin gown, which has been modified to keep his body at the perfect temperature. It also is able to hold both his blade and his club.

    Background:

He grew up in the mountains with an osrtacised tribe of people. Their history was a long and complicated one, but under the ruling of local authorities they were forced out sue to their so called 'barbaric, savage and primitive nature'. They had endured many ahrdships over the years and due to their inability to take it lying down, were forced into exile. The hollowed out homes for themselves where they learned to live off the fat of the land, perfect their ability to make the earth their own, and grow a greater understanding of environments and how to manipulate them. He lived with his parents and his brother there for his wholelife, during which time he learnt many important lessons for surviving battles. He understood that one day he would return to the villages and seek vengeance on all those who had forced his people out, and left many of them to die up in the mountains. He knows only loyalty to the people of SezIya, his tribe. To mingle with others is not looked upon fondly. Though that is what he must now do, as he moves to join the band of heroes.

Berul is the youngest of five sons born to a great house of Islen. His education was unremarkable due to his entertaining his tutors and distracting them from their task. He dutifully learned to fight with an array of knightly weapons but had little enthusiasm for anything but knives and fisticuffs.

Berul was always fascinated with the idea of becoming a Mage and pleaded with his parents to let him try. Reluctantly they agreed, having had knightly plans in mind for him, and Berul went to the Mages for training.

However, Berul washed out of training when his mentor, Garin, refused to teach him any more. Garin only told his parents that he was unsuitable to train. Garin confided to two other mages that the boy had a strong pull toward the dark magics that he did not feel he could train out of him.

Berul went back to his father and learned the life of a nobleman. He had taken his dismissal with such sunny good grace that when he became bored again with the life at home and moved into the city proper, the Mages found themselves relying on him as an intermittent errand boy and message boy. He eagerly did lowly tasks for them and soon became a fixture.

Now, trusted in the eyes of the mages, Berul has traveled to the Dalamites on another mission.

    Erinima

Name: H.R.M Queen Erinima "Erin" Imoen na Orlith, The Martyred Lady
    Gender: Female

    Appearance:

She died in her late fifties/early sixties, but appears in her spiritual form when she was in her prime - her early twenties. She is quite small, (she stood at 5'1" when alive) with a slender figure. Dark brown hair falls to hip length, pinned back with a silver filigree circlet, and surrounding a heart-shaped face. She has a rosy complexion, and her features are small and delicate, apart from large violet eyes flecked with green and gold. Diamond studs glint in her ears, and she wears a dress of cream coloured silk, painstakingly embroidered with intricate designs, the skirt slashed with red. A woven silver belt encircles her waist, and she wears satin slippers.

Personality/Spirit: She usually appears with a warm, kind smile, and has an open, motherly air about her. When she was alive she was wise, and a good judge, which led to one of Islen's most prosperous eras under her reign.

    Complete Summary

    ~The New RPG!
Summarized from Beginning (Pg. 1) to May 9th 2007 (Pg. 84)

Some catastrophic event has, in Islen’s history, caused the opening of the Demon Gate, a portal to a world of endless evil open in the southern reaches of Islen. Every attempt to close it has been so far unsuccessful, even the Knights of Islen suffering painful defeat in their quest, battling agains the tide of evil to the very gate itself but lacking a way to close it.

Mistrust between the Order of Islen, a brotherhood who are zealously devoted to the faith that keeps Islen from darkness, and the Mage Council proves to be fertile ground for strife between these entities.

The Order of Islen (made up of the Knights of Islen) strives to cleanse Islen of heresies and reclaim the land, a slow process with many setbacks.

The Mages promise to erect a magic barrier immediately south of Serin. Protective measures are put into place, blessed lodestones protecting what few villages and fortress-monasteries that remain the cursed lands South of Serin.

    It doesn’t work.

A group of human heretics, within Islen has harnessed old magic, and is corrupting the defenses and summoning demons even in the protected Northern lands. This causes the cancer of mistrust between the Order of Islen and the Mage Council to grow, opening the door ever wider for evil’s supremacy in Islen.

But the legendary Amoratie Propehecy is about to come to pass.

In the fortress city of Serin, the Mage Council, headed by Saehenine, puts forth a challenge to all comers…face your soul and join the Quest to close the gate. Those who are successful are given a magical gift and bear the title of Hero. Those who are not are no more.

The gift-giving ceremony is interrupted by news of a demonic attack on a village a day’s ride away. The heroes fly straight to the village on gryphons, which they also seem to bond with as the story progresses.

The heroes fight valiantly, a young woman from the village (Alexx) killing the leader of the demons, causing the other demons (who are pretty darn solid illusions) to vanish. They’re also joined by Vahn (elf) at this point.

Almost immediately, the village is set upon by goblins. In the battle, Delann (draconian mercenary) joins up with Alexx. Bybrick (goblin) is taken captive.

When the heroes try to question Bybrick he escapes after mentioning being betrayed. Aia chases him down and uses magic to recapture him. When the other heroes catch up to them and are vulnerable outside the village, the demons once again attack.

This time the mages appear and tell the heroes in no uncertain terms to leave. The heroes take flight on their gryphons, Alexx, Delann, and Rae(?) take off on Wolf and horseback. Vahn wades through the demons, fighting a single-handed battle. Skye nearly airlifts him out but figures the gryphon can’t take the weight. She and Bogey(gryphon) each dispatch demons and then fly South with the others. Vahn enlists Bybrick on the spot to fight.

Further events in the Village: Vahn, Bybrick, and the mages prevail against the demons. The mages go to restore the corrupted lodestone (which is the defense against demons), Vahn is visited and marked by Islen who directs him to help the Heroes in their quest. (these scenes are beautifully written and I can’t do them justice here) Karin appears on the scene. The heroes are too far ahead by this point to be caught up by horseback so Vahn asks the mages to transport them to where the heroes are. Mages agree. In the meantime the heroes have been flying and are miles away…

Aside: In the port city of Eren: Saehenine secretly meets with an old witch with whom she has been trading her blood for information for a long time. She is reunited with her daughter, Laurel.

Two days’ ride South from the village in a large meadow: The exhausted heroes land their gryphons in a meadow, as the sun is setting. They have had very little rest and no food for the past two days. The land here is cursed and to eat or drink anything from it would be dangerous. Aia, still weakened, has nightmares that seem to be visions. Skye has nightmares that warn of the poisoned ground. They manage to pool enough resources to make a meal and Rufus finds a pretty and possibly magical stone.

Alexx and Delann (and others) are not far away in the woods. There is mistrust between them and the heroes both and Alexx is reunited with a brother she never knew she had. N'Zaed'niir'th begins appearing to her.

This brief period of uneasy rest is abruptly broken by a black tide of demonic bacteria (which still needs a nifty name) that sweeps in from the North, devouring all organic matter in its path. All the heroes take to the air, warned by Skye whose mage-given talisman warned her, except for Aia. Skye flies over the woods encampment, warning Alexx’s group of the danger and Alexx and Wolf pull of a daring rescue of Aia just ahead of the bacteria.

The whole group runs/flies pell-mell to the South once more.

In the village of the Arboles: The heroes and Alexx’s group both arrive at the woodland edge of the Arbole village. N'Zaed'niir'th informs Alexx that her brother has died. A group of village men hold the heroes at arrow-point until satisfied that they are not attacking.

The villagers take the group to the tavern; a healer is called for Aia (Mano sees something wrong with this healer), Kinareth (knight) arrives running from a demonic threat in the woods and wounded. Skye tries to stop the bleeding from his wounds and Rufus, Mano, and Va Poor prepare to defend against demons that were chasing him.

The Arboles, whose defense depends upon hiding the village as a mirage, ‘disappear’ the village, leaving the heroes healed and with fresh weapons, but not knowing where they are.

Vahn (and his horse, Bard), Karin, Bybrick, Lauren, and the mages show up almost immediately in a dome of light, very nearly getting shot by Rufus for their pains. (The location coincides with where the Arboles’ location should be according to a map made before their mirage defenses)

Aia is no better. Kinareth challenges Vahn and is more or less ignored. Ryde is discovered wounded at the edge of the clearing, and now Rafael (elf) is approaching the group near where Ryde was found.

The mages bugger off (with style!) to do whatever it is that they need to do.

We’re currently adding at least 3 new characters so things are a little messy. Aia went a long way toward settling the general scene down, however, combat between Vahn and Kindareth was declared. Firey wolves were about to attack the group.

It was agreed that Vahn and Kinareth, who had experience of battling the Fire Wolves, would stay behind face them. With Aia joining Skye on her gryphon and Laurel and Karin sharing Aia’s, the others took off and flew the half hour to the village of Dalamites.

Laurel, acquainted with elders of the village, and Mano, having passed through on his travels, arranged meal and board in the village inn The Duck & Pheasant. A blond man, Berul, a representative of Saehenine, was there to greet them. He flirted with Karin and a newcomer, Glo, who both seemed to fall for him, while Rufus and Alexx got rather drunk. Laurel took Ryde to the village healer, Elysia’s, and stitched his wounds. Skye took Aia to their room, then went down for a meal, which she shared with Va Poor.
While all this was happening, Vahn and Kinareth defeated the Fire Wolves, but Kinareth was wounded badly in his side. Vahn applied bloodmoss and stitched him up, and they continued on to Dalamites.
Ryde awoke in Elysia’s house, and was helped to a proper bed and rest. Laurel visited Aia, and gave her a sleeping powder to help her rest. She came down and was invited to join Mano and answer some questions.

At this point Kinareth and Vahn reached Dalamites. Vahn headed for the chapel (having taken tokens from his kills by the by) while Kinareth headed for the inn. He asked Laurel to tend to him; they went upstairs with Mano. While Laurel did what she could Mano asked her some questions. She revealed that she knew very littled and Mano disappeared downstairs.

Laurel followed, and promised to answer all questions honestly the next day. Kinareth then came down and announced his intent to still battle Vahn the next morning, and went off to prepare and meditate. Alexx came across him while he did and they talked for a while.

Vahn meant the priest of the Chapel, was given a room and sent a girl (can’t remember who, sorry) off to ready the wolf pelt (?). Rafael met with an old friend of his, and left notes on everyone’s door to meet with him the next night. Berul went and bought new clothes for everyone, leaving them with a note saying With Saehenine’s compliments. In her room, Laurel contacted her mother via mind communication, and appeared resentful of not being told everything.

The next day, Vahn went in search of Kinareth. Skye, Aia (feeling much better, though still with a Voice in her head), Laurel and the others were respectively drawn to the fight. Alexx was also watching.
Karin, meanwhile, had had a vision of Queen Erinima, telling her to go in search of some old, powerful masks. She and Glo went off on a mini adventure and procured the first of these masks.

Vahn won the fight between him and Kinareth, seriously wounding him but not killing him. Berul, during the battle, cast some sort of spell over Skye and he and Laurel recognised each other. For most of the afternoon Laurel and the others work to heal Kinareth.

That evening, Laurel gathered the Heroes in the Inn and attempted to talk with them. Ryde asked to join the quest and was duly accepted. Slowly everyone except Rufus, Raphael, Ryde and Aia left. Karin came back and told Laurel that Glo wanted to join. Laurel basically didn’t care and left to visit her friend Marietta.

Skye and Vahn had an in depth conversation about their respective pasts and the evil covering Islen in the Chapel; while Alexx went upstairs to talk to Kinareth. In Arin, Saehenine was trying to find information on Old Magic but it has seemingly vanished. A chance encounter with a young boy named Edward sparked an idea, and she is now in the old Royal Palace of Arin.

Sonny came in at this point, entering the Inn via Kinareth’s window. They argued and Sonny tore up Kinareth’s room, then emerged into the main Inn. Alexx is chasing after him and Aia has just come upon him after running to find out what the noises were. Kinareth has left the Inn and is headed for the forest.

Laurel, who was talking with her friend Marietta, has been informed of Sonny’s arrival by a serving girl and is about to go and investigate. Other serving girls have gone to fetch Vahn, who was last at the Chapel, and the other Heroes – Mano, Skye, Va Poor, Rufus, Raphael, Karin and now Glo.

Raphael still has a message to give to the other Heroes, from a dwarven friend.

I just wonder why no-one can show up quietly any more. Is it that you don't feel convincing unless a character smashes through a window or something?

He did show up quietly, very quietly, until tested... That's his character

And in response to your post in the rpg slayer,my character wouldn't necessarily grasp that at all. He's from the outside he's lived in isolation with his tribe for years. He's grown to think of civilisation and all that comes with it as the enemy. It's his mentality. We are meant to be creating characters afterall.

He has lived with a tribe, not on his own, and even a tribe that has been ostrasized has its norms. Even in the most barbaric cultures its more or less taken that you do not enter the place where someone sleeps.

Also, where is this tribe from?

Just a note: If you need to find something in the RPG (like the last mention of your character) there is a 'Search This Thread' button at the top right of the thread box. It's right next to 'Thread Tools'.

Click on the 'Search' button and you'll get a search field to type your character's name into (or whatever else you are looking for).
