Name-Nicholas Kevendez
Age -32
Alliance- I think that that is clear without me saying…
Description- Nicholas is an average-looking man of 32 years, with military-cut light brown hair. He's not physically intimidating, standing at 5' 10" and weighing only 170 pounds but he doesn't need to be big because his ideas and his voice are his main weapons.
His eyes are a rare forest green that captivates people as soon as they lock eyes over that first firm handshake. Nicholas is the perfect politician. People like his easy way, his charming smile and especially the easy manner in which he can give orders, and have them followed.
But, as all know, looks can be deceiving...
Personality- Nicholas has a quick way of saying things that cause some to believe he is strictly a professional but if they actually listen to the words he's saying they'd realize that his wit is unmatched and his humor comes and goes so quickly, hardly a soul notices.
When people look at Nicholas, they see a man of the people and his good will and charitable ways are like that of no one else. But in reality, Nicholas is a man who says one thing yet means another. He'll do something kind when actually its purpose is to serve himself. No one knows Nicholas well enough to discern when he's serving the people or when his intentions are utterly self-serving.
Perhaps, under scrutiny, his benign lifestyle would not hold up so well...
Equipment- His mind is all he needs, though he keeps a
.357 Magnum revolver at hand for his own protection.
History- Nicholas was born on February 17th, 1983 in Uryupinsk, Russia. A town whose name was taken in Russia as a synonym for "backwater town." His father made his living working in a plant that made cranes. The machines fascinated little Nicholas when he was six years old and he longed to one day work aboard them.
In school Nicholas excelled over all around him from the time he was in first grade until he graduated, valedictorian, in 2001. Though expectations were high for young Nicholas, he did not go off to any of the many colleges offering him a free ride all the way through his higher education. He had never forgotten the dream of the six-year old boy he had been not too long before.
Nicholas moved to Kaliningrad early in June of that year to work on the machines his father had once built. Working the crane was every bit as enjoyable as Nicholas had expected but it seemed too good to be true.
Alas, it was. After working in Kaliningrad for barely three months, Nicholas received news from home. His fifty year old father had been gravely injured in the factory.
Nicholas quit his job and flew back home as quickly as he could. When he reached the airport he hailed a cab and had the man drive him to the hospital. He arrived just in the nick of time. He rushed into his fathers room, took him by the hand and watched him fade away.
"Nicholas..." It was his father's last word but it made Nicholas feel good under the circumstances. He knew his father cared and he knew what he had to do.
Nicholas went home that night and first thing in the morning he called the Dean of Admissions at Saint Petersburg State University and asked if the offer was still available.
It was.
He stayed in Uryupinsk long enough to witness his father's funeral then left for St. Petersburg the next day. Once there he immediately went to work. On a free ride, he could do what he wanted and take as many classes as he pleased. He chose a lot. He took Psychology, Sociology, Physiology, four different sciences- from Physics to Biology-, Nine languages- Spanish, English, French, Latin, German, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and even a little bit of Ancient Greek-, and (probably one of his most important classes) political science.
He was ready. He got his doctorate in Political Science, Psychology and Sociology all at the same time. Something that had never been accomplished before. He moved back to Uryupinsk to stay with his mother for a time and while he was there he was approached by the town committee and asked something he had never even thought of.
Would he like to run for mayor?
Without hesitation he said yes. He ran, and he won. His opponent Randall Krionov was gracious about his defeat and Nicholas appreciated his humility. He allowed him a job in Town Hall as his first man (what some, in jest, called the "Vice Mayor.")
Nicholas and Randall became fast friends. They started doing everything together. Randall became the only person Nicholas could trust.
In 2010, tragedy struck once again when Nicholas' mother died of a tumor found in her brain. He had tried everything to save her. He had called in doctors from all over the globe but they all had said the same thing. "There's nothing I can do."
His term almost over, Nicholas decided that he needed to get out of Uryupinsk and to go for bigger things.
He was going to be the president of Russia.
When he told the people of Uryupinsk of his imminent departure tears were shed for the loss of their wonderful mayor but joy was shared in the knowledge that, with Nicholas at its head, Russia would become a better country.
On the flight to Moscow in January of 2011 Nicholas got a surprise. He was sitting in his seat, the only one in his row, reading a book when suddenly someone dropped into the seat next to him.
It was Randall.
"Wherever you go, I follow," he said. Nicholas was grateful for the companion and him and Randall talked through the whole flight there about everything from their childhoods to the upcoming election. Nicholas had his first true friend.
When they reached Moscow Randall made all of the necessary arrangements for Randall to do what he was destined to do. Lead.
With Randall running as his Prime Minister the two were a nearly unstoppable force but the vote was close.
Nicholas won by a hair.
He was now the president of the country. In the celebrations between the election in late 2011 and the inauguration in early 2012 Randall became ill. No one knew what was wrong with him, only that surely he would die.
Nicholas didn't leave his bedside for an instant. All of his responsibility's to his country were forgotten as he grieved for his friend. Randall was running a fever of 42.8 degrees and his chances were looking grim.
Then, just three days before the inauguration, miraculously, the fever broke and Randall was up and about within 48 hours. He said that nothing would stop him from seeing his friend accomplish his dream. Not even death.
During Randall's inauguration speech not a sound was uttered. Each word he said was grasped by the people's minds and their hearts. He was their man.
He sat in office for hardly three months when, on April 27th, they received news.
The International Communism Pact was born.
Word also reached him of the European powers' intention to break down the country barriers and have them all be a single entity. They would need a leader.
Nicholas was an obvious choice. He spoke all of the languages, knew how to deal with people and also knew what it took to be a good politician. He put his name in for the running and his presence in the race actually convinced some opponents to withdraw their names. It cam down to him and Randall running against the Prime minister of England and their Parliament.
There was no contest. Nicholas won.
Immediately after winning the election, Nicholas declared war on the Communist countries. The war raged on for three years and millions of lives were lost. But, eventually, Europe came out on top and absorbed Cuba, China and North Korea into their power.
Soon after the war The United States Allied with Europe in September of 2015, quickly followed by Canada, Central America, and finally Asia. The European Alliance was now Global, resulting in a name change. The Planetary Alliance.
But South America became a problem.
They would not join the Alliance. They claimed it was not a true democracy, that if allowed, it would become a planet-wide dictatorship. Immediately, after some prompting from Kevendez to suspend civil liberties, troops were sent in and South America was captured within a year. Nicholas was unofficially the ruler of the world.
He wanted to make it official. Rebellions arose in South America and in some few other countries (mainly the ones that were members of the International Communism Pact.) But they were snuffed out quickly by Nicholas' highly trained team, the ATU.
Nicholas became an idol to everyone who was willingly a part of the Alliance. They never wanted his rule to end.
He was fine with that.
Now, with his power official, he had only one thing to do. He had to destroy all of the last remaining vestiges of resistance.
He had the world on his side...
