CTW is a forum game made famous on Tribal Wars. I don't know how well it will go over here, but I figured why not give it a try.
Description and The Rules: Conquer the World is an in depth forum game where you take the role as a newly elected leader of a country that I, the Game Master, will assign you. CTW was created on another forum by trollbrain, props to him, and adapted for WF by myself. All participants have to make their move during a turn. A turn is 48 hours from the beginning of the game or the end of the previous turn.
Post organized and neatly. Don't make it sloppy. Research your country beforehand, I will give 24 hours for that to be done. Wikipedia is your best friend in this game. All of your actions will have a result. If you switch from Democracy to Communism or Socialism, your citizens may very well rebel, and neighboring countries may decide to invade. Human rights issues, or if you decide to allow slavery, and you may find that all your trade partners have placed an embargo at the very least. Step in for humanitarian causes, and nations will look on you favorably. If you are improving industries, the more detailed you are, the better the improvement will be. For example:
Improve Automopbile industry - $200 million (this will not improve the auto industry by much)
Improve automibile industry by researching more efficient production techniques. Purchase specialized robotics from Japan, and ask the UK to lend us some automotive technicians to help train our guys. $200 million, an additional $100 million can be spent if needed. (this will greatly improve your automobile industry)
Some Basics to ensure your nation will survive: Understand that GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and Government Expenditures are not the same thing. If your Gov't expenditures are as high as your GDP, very bad things will happen to your economy. If you spend $234 billion dollars on tanks, and your country's GDP is $234 billion, your economy will hit rock bottom and you country's money will be worth no more than toilet paper.
Also, this is not a purely military game. If you ignore the problems inside your own country and just focus on warmongering, citizens will be very unhappy and will probably emigrate.
I will only allow 11 players to join, because anymore and things will get very cluttered very fast. Of course, only 11 players running 11 countries leaves an awful lot of countries to be playerless. I will be taking careful look at the choices you make and I will have neighboring countries respond accordingly.
In warfare, please follow Geneva protocol. If you don't know GenPro, as I will call it here, Wikipedia it. Also, military size, this means all branches combined, is based on .5% of your country's population. You may increase that percentage, but it will have a negative effect on labor supply and the like.
I think that caps it up..Oh, Treaties, Non Aggression Pacts, Free Trade Agreements, reduced/increased tarrifs, embargos ect are all allowed. Be polite to the GM and your fellow players, or I or they may decide to make something bad happen in the game.
Use of nuclear/biologocal weapons is frowned on. That does not mean you cannot use them, but doing so WILL raise a shitstorm in the UN/NATO. Naturally if a country launches a nuclear/biological attack on your soil, you may retaliate in the same, but be careful, as that may bring the world into a nuclear war, which is a very undesirable thing.
This post is getting a bit long, so I shall end it with an example of what the first turn should look like. (I'm making the troop/equipment numbers up. Do not do that!!!)
kangthemad-United States of America Gov't Expenditures: $5 billion
Speech: My fellow Americans, I am honored to be elected your president. I would normally spend time discussing what I have planned for healthcare and education, but in light of the recent attack on US soil by Canada shall not go unpunished! I shall be meeting with my Joint Chiefs and military advisers in just a few hours from now on what best to do. Thank yu, and god bless you all.

Education- Offer government paid scholarships to students who graduate with an A- average who plan to take college degrees in computer Science/Engineering/software to better upgrade government and military computer systems.
Economic- Place an embargo on all Canadian imports and exports to their country. Demand that Mexico agree to remove them from NAFTA. Close US-Canadian border.
Summary:
Airstrike on Canadian base
Purchase weapons from Germany, Train special forces with them
Embargo on Canada
Close US-Canadian border
Request forcefully that Mexico agrees to remove Canada from NAFTA.
Offer Government paid scholarships to A average student who plan on majoring in a computer related field
Obviously your first post and subsequent turns should be a bit more detailed than mine above. You only need to post military size and vehicle number when you make a change or plan to take military action.
Covert operations can be PMed to me if you do not want another player run country knowing. If you plan to build or research new weapon technology, post a link to schematics or Wikipedia page of that weapon.
The game will begin once the 11 players join up and they will have 24 hours to research their country. You do not have to wait 24 hours to make your first turn.
SCENARIO: In WWII, Operation Valkurie was a success, and the Third Reich was overthrown early on in the war. A stronger alliance between Germany and Russia was formed. Benito Mussolini was consequently assassinated by an Allied special forces team. Intelligence led to the Americans, and the New Axis, fueled by anger at Mussolini's assassination and the nuclear destruction of Japan launched a massive campaign against the Allied forces. Much of Europe was destroyed. France had surrendered early on, and Britain was eventually forced to surrender as well. From there, a massive naval fleet set off for America's East coast. The little Atlantic fleet of the Americans was quickly crushed, and the Axis fleet began bombarding the Eastern Seaboard. Airplanes sent off aircraft carriers were sent in further, and Air Force one was shot down with the President and First Family aboard.
All of America's military forces were en route to the eastern seaboard when seven prototype Russian submarines surfaced along the West Coast and began to destroy major cities unhindered.
Airstikes and Ground to Sea missile strikes eventually forced the Axis fleet to retreat. The submarines that devastated the West Coast had unloaded all their ordnance and already slipped back into the Pacific.
A truce was called once America managed to smuggle two nuclear devices into Berlin and St. Petersburg and detonate them. America's economy was devastated from the war, and it would take twenty years of hard work to get back on their feet. Alaska was returned to Russia free of charge as a provision of the treaty.
Now, the date is July seventh, 2012. Russia, Germany and Italy control most of Eastern Europe. America is no longer a Superpower, and rebuilding of the coastal cities is still in progress. Drug lords from Colombia, Mexico and most of South and Central America have taken advantage of the United States, and a terrifying 3.6% of America's population is addicted to drugs. Human, drug and weapon trafficking is becoming a major problem within the United States. The Drug and Weapon dealers have several heavily defended bases in the Southwest, and a few small towns are completely under their rule.
Britain and the rest of the Allied European countries have fared slightly better, though crime is a large problem. The European Union and NATO started off shaky, but are proving to be the most efficient from of government the Allied European countries have had since the war. Government types are the same for allied countries as when they entered the war. Communism is huge in Eastern Europe, and the Iron Curtain still exists.. China has agreed to a Free Trade Agreement with the United States in exchange that the US share all military and medical advancements with them. Japan refuses to trade with America, as a result, American auto companies are doing surprisingly well.
OK! First 11 people interested in joining can do so now! First to post, first served.

I'm a turkey!
I'm also a Mentor. What does that mean? It means if you have any questions, all you have to do is ask me. My job is to help you feel comfortable here. (The mods' job is to take away cookies as punishment. Twisted fiends.) http://sundancerstory.blogspot.com/
