    Vampire RPG?

Any interest in doing one? I haven't seen one done yet... possibilities are endless I would think - there are so many differing legends and stories about them. Werewolves too for that matter.

Comments, suggestions and plot ideas welcome if you're keen

LOL no problem... as I said there are so many stories and legends, we'll have to work out what our vamps can and can't do, what they can and can't put up with, how they're killed and how they're made.

I personally think that realistically (for vampires LOL) they would need to be bitten but not killed/drained to become vampires but wouldn't have to bite back. Something in the saliva that would affect a victim that wasn't killed simular to how STD's pass I would think? And that for this reason, it would take a few days for somebody to transform completely... and their canines would only lengthen as they were actually hunting (keeping them normal looking when they're not hunting as a sort of camoflage to help them blend into society somewhat?)

And their hunts are 99.9% kill... because a) they don't want victims to be able to tell human society about them to help keep them hidden and b) they are typically loners and the fewer vamps around the easier it is to stay hidden and for their kills to be put down as animal attacks or random accidents - less suspicion.

I think that religious signs, and garlic is just myth for our vamps but they can't stand sunlight (my own theory is because they're night hunters, like owls and creatures of the deep oceans their eyesight is designed to work in darkness and daylight is too bright, too uncomfortable even with sunglasses. I also thing they wouldn't like brightly lit rooms for the same reason).

    Anyone else got ideas?

I agree with all of those, and for the sake of the RP are we going to drown out Half casts? (I normally play a half cast in most vamp rp's)

By half cast do you mean vamp/human offspring (even possible???) or vamp/werewolf offspring (are we going to do werewolves too or not?)

I guess that would depend if the vamps considered half casts a threat. If they were no threat at all they may generally ignore their existance or some may even hunt them (the worse vamps) and treat them as more or less human but perhaps more exciting to hunt due to their enhanced abilities as they're more than human? (obviously these abilities aren't nearly as acute as the vamps but certainly much more advanced as a regular human) Perhaps they ignore their existance... perhaps they hate them and view them as a threat to their secrecy? It really depends on what half casts would be like I guess as to the vamps reaction to them.

    I'd loved this RP

Personally I always thought that the sunlight part of the vampire legend was always just a bit over stated. I would say our vamps could stand sunlight but their skin burns very easily, ten minutes out in stronge sunlight without protection would give them sevre sun stroke or something.

Yeah I agree, they'd get a sunstroke - or a migraine (due to excessive brightness to their very sensitive eyes) if they were in direct sunlight too long. I don't know about being burned... I know a white vampire would burn I expect but a african-american wouldn't easily if at all.

Still on the hunt for original plot line ideas

    Vampire = Alien

    That been done?

The reason their skin burns easily is because they have very little sunlight on their home planet. They feast on human blood because it is the closest material on Earth to the plasma-like substance they used to survive on their world.

the sun thing isn't acutally that far fectched, 'cause the disease that the vampire 'myth' origionated from, one of the symptoms was that when the infected person went into sunlight there skin blistered....anyway...

    umm storylines....thinks...

lol it is plausable, but that doesn't explain why they can change humans into beings like themselves, or why humans find them amazingly beautiful ect.

    1. They're aliens, they can have whatever weird outerspace powers someone feels like slapping on them.

This has, indeed, been done. By me But it's neither published nor finished, so I may as well fill you in on the details I came up with.

They come from Mars. Now, Mars is red from iron and so is blood - and because they sustain themselves on iron alone, it's easiest to drink blood to bet their meals. They don't like sun because Mars gets less of it than Earth, and besides, back in it's heyday (complicated stuff behind this) Mars had a thicker atmosphere that didn't allow as much light through. But they didn't get burnt by it, it just hurt their eyes.

More or less what you said, Monkuta.

As for the blood thing, I never totally figured that out myself. Something about their blood being almost sentient, not being the same thing humans classified as blood - it's part of their digestive system, and is also connected to their eyes. So they all have black eyes (because their blood is carbon-based and black itself) unless they've just have some iron, in which case they becomes red. These vampires didn't go running about turning humans, though, because the exchange of bloods was something that the human rarely survived; when they did, it resulted in a telepathic link between the human and vampire. Also, because the blood is carbon-based and diamonds are essentially compressed carbon, they're blood makes them more or less bulletproof.

More than a little out there, and I'm not sure it's what ya'll are looking for, but feel free to draw off it
