The future, I think we'll be even more globalized. Technology will be better, obviously, stuff like holograms will be common. I'd also say we'll be pretty much totally dependant on computers.

As for the character question: Characters are individuals, so all are unique. Special characters are a lot harder to create, but make sure the reader can relate to them in some way.

There are three rules for doing that. Unfortunately nobody knows what they are.

(With apologies to Hawke for misappropriating her signature)

Pretty broad question. Tomorrow, not much different to today. A billion years from now we'll have been swallowed up by a black hole. Or did you mean somewhere in between?

lol well..... its more of imagination question than a matter-of-fact question. lets say in a few thousand years time what do you want the world to be like?

You could explore how the human body might change. If you take our faces for example - the nose points downwards so as to prevent failing rain from entering; ears are dish like to catch noise; eyes are two to see a wider vision but also the importance of sight incase we lose one; eyebrows to keep water from the eyes; the protectiveness of the skull but with holes to make it light enough to hold up - you get my drift. The entire body and its functions are all in tune to keep us alive. These have evolved and will continue to do so according to our environment and what we do in it. Just a thought.

I'll answer your second question, what makes unique characters?

PERSONALITY - my favorite and most memorable characters are those that have a personality that shines through in all aspects of the story. It should ooze out of the character in their thinking, actions and words.

Make each character unique. Give them quirks, talk about their fears and beliefs. Give them an "image" of what other people see them as too.

Good luck!
