Creating a fictional setting in Pakistan

I agreed a while back to do a project with a fiend online, he wrote a fictional setting set in the near future (scfi/horror) where the world descended into a nuclear holocaust masterminded by a vampric organization that was quick to take over any remaining pockets of humanity leaving the world in territorial divided by many vampire warlords. I said I’ll try to create a fictional one shot relating to an incident between two vampric orders. The necrocouncil and the red wolf. The story focuses on an incident that triggers off a vicious incursion by the red wolf into the necrocouncil’s territory invading a region controlled by a deluded vampire that self styles himself as saladin. (He control territory from Pakistan to most of the middle east) however the red wolf uses their incursion as an excuse to destroy the Islamic faith (under the necrocouncil religion was tolerated, the red wolf views organized faith as human defiance)

The difficulty I am faced with is detailing life and culture in a Pakistan where it is oppressed by entitles deemed supernatural. Just how would a country respond to being occupied by a vampire that tries to proclaim himself as an icon of Islam? In a novel I once read called the ‘alien years’ there are some muslims who call the aliens who occupied the world ‘jinn’ which I believe is something to do with beings outside allah’s creation. While the setting is fictional I am trying to be accurate on its perception as to the challenges it faces in the story.

If anyone can offer an insight to some main points regarding society in Pakistan (main difference between that and western society) and how would anyone in that country react to a regime that tries to ‘reform’ the faith and vaules to the occupiers own ends. Yet knowing that their current masters are the only thing protecting their faith and culture from one that openly wishes to eradicate it. And what are the pitfalls that are to be avoided when depicting a faith like Islam because the last thing I want to do is stereotype it or show ignorance. At most I'll try to cover the basic points as I won't pretne that I know more because I don't which is why i'm here asking for help over a fictional setting.

Thanks for reading.

I don't think any civilization can be summed up by just a few "main points." May I suggest that you either spend a few months in the library, or write about a place you're more familiar with.
