Fantasy Coronation advice

Hi i am working on a fantasy novel and have a new half-elf king to crown. i have done some research into real coronation traditions but i want something a little different. but it has to still be believable as a coronation. the new king is 28 (human years) and is suceeding his father who was king for around 20 years there also new king has a 17 year old younger brother and an infant daughter. any ideas?

Is his father still alive? If that's the case, I'm sure you could do some touching moment when the old king hands over the crown (and, implied, all the responsibility) to his son.
If daddy's dead I don't have many suggestions, maybe some religious mumbojumbo since these things were usually conducted by priests? Summoning the gods or angels or spirits of the ancestors or whatever to wish the new king luck.
