Sonic Levitation for aircraft?

I wonder if sonic levitation can be used to lift objects or levitate aircraft?

Hope this helps.

Here is a site that might help, very technical though.

Also magnetic levitation, may be more reasonable for a story, though it has been done to death. You can also look into Casimir force.

I take it sonic levitation is lifting something by using sonic beams of sound? Could work, I suppose, but if your novel is fiction, why not use something like telekinesis? If it's very factual, I guess you can't, but just an idea.

I don't think you could fly anything with sonic levitation. As far as the research I have seen goes, it involves a surrounding sytem, and requires a fragile equilibrium so as to not destroy or harm the object being lifted. Also, you need something to kepp it in place. If you check, the link someone provided pretty much agrees with me. And, sound powerful enough to lift a plane would be deafening and probably would affect other objects nearby. What use are you planning on putting it to? Of course, even magnetic flight and levitation have major issues if you want to do anything complicated.
