A good read for new fantasy writers

or even some old ones, and general writers

I'm sure people have linked to this site before or at least made mention of it, but i couldn't find anything recent for it. so i thought i'd bring it up again.

FARP : Writing Resources, Tutorials

and for those of you wanting to know what your clicking on. See below.

basically a great source of information on improving many aspects of your writing. from simple dialogue to creating whole fantasy worlds.

Edit* also i note to those interested. all those articles are written by amateurs. if your looking for professional articles see the post below by Non-Servian.

I rather strongly suggest new fantasy writers should start here:

TOC About Writing

The above articles are written by professionals.

Not all the FARP advice should be taken to heart, I think.

yea SFWA would be a much better start.

I merely posted FARP cause i noticed a lot of the questions members were asking were answered pretty simply there. and there still is a good amount of information in helping with getting some groundwork

so just because the articles weren't written by professionals, i wouldn't discredit them. you should never cast aside any advice or criticism, but then again like you said you shouldn't take the advice to heart either. just something you keep in mind.

After trawling both links, I think the second link is good if you are new to writing altogether; and you desire to write fantasy.

However, if you want good information on what to do and what not to do in the various aspects of your writing, the first link is far superior. It even gives good examples.
