About Acid (the drug)

Hello I am beginning a horror story about an acid trip, but I don't know how people take acid. Does anyone have any idea? Thank you in advance.

LSD blotter paper, baby. Look it up.

I personally don't take acid, but the boyfriend does and that's what he uses. If you want a horror story revolving acid, whether a person takes a bad or a good trip depends on the state of mind when they first take it. Maybe having your character being forced to take acid or something will trigger a bad episode.

Not really. In fact not even remotely. You state of mind when you first drop is pretty meaningless it terms of what happens when you come on.

But, yeah, blotter is pretty much the way it goes anymore. Caps and tabs and window panes and such are just too much trouble.

You see it on paper with cool little designs, even brand names. A lot of beat sales are just paper with designs, nothing on the paper.

This opens up all sorts of possibilites for a writer, actually. What's the name of this stuff? Does it have a leering devil on the tab? A peace symbol? Something that resonates the concepts and images of your story?

I've heard of people taking acid some fairly weird ways, including dropping liquid onto the eyeball.

Another neat was a guy who had dropped it on each leaf of a pack of cigarette papers. Which he got to keep when he got jailed at a big war protest. Leading to a fairly freaky scene with a tank crammed full of warped-out peaceniks.

Back in the day, microdots were my favourite, but blotters were always more common - easier to produce. Lin's right about existing state of mind - there was certainly nothing in my moods to suggest that I would realise my personal Godhood, or be attacked by eagles.

I used to like the predictability of acid. Party, approaching midnight, someone offers you a tab. Hmmm... 1 hour to come up, 8 hours trip, start work at 9... go for it!
