Formats of a Novel/ Graphic Novel
I have been looking thru the library and the internet but I am still unable to see what is the difference between a regular comic book, an illustrated novel and a graphic novel.
I have searched but all I found was webpages of words that doesn't answer my questions. Pictures can explain better.

A regular comic book is generally the size of a small magazine, very thin, with coloured pictures and glossy.
A graphic novel are generally known to be mangas, the smallest are about 6x4, black and white with some occasional colour pictures, and about 200 pages long.
An illustrated novel is a novel with illustrations.
So basically a graphic novel is a novel with pictures and some words, an illustrated novel is a novel with words and some pictures, and a comic book is geared towards a graphic novel but in colour and magazine.

AH... I see... Thanks a lot.... but then it appears that graphic novels have a lot of panels with words..... am I wrong? IT might need a script

A graphic novel has panels on each page, in which there is a drawing and usually some text (what the character is saying).

A graphic novel is the same thing as a comic book except.... a graphic novel is usually of novel lenght (in pages) and is one shot or a series that is published on an irregular basis...
a comic book is short (usually 32 pages) and published with shorter story arcs on a regular basis... monthly or bimonthly.
an illustrated novel is self explanatory.

Want examples?
J. O'Barr's The Crow or Neil Gaiman's Sandman series are graphic novels.
Any Superman/Wonderwoman/Marvel/DC thin magazine publication you see at the 'comic shop' is a comic book. Put the two side by side and you'll see the difference.

Actually the Sandman series was a series of comic books that are now collected in graphic novel format....
so that means a graphic novel can also be a collection of multiple comic books that cover the same story arc or series.
