Satanic Rituals
I am intending a character to be a satanist. Does anyone have any good resources for looking up rituals used in satanic practices? I'm talking real satanism not the Hollywood version. I want to be as factual as possible.

Awesome! Thank you very much. It seems I have some misleading ideas of what satanists actually do. Damn Hollywood!

Just please, PLEASE don't have use pentegrams. It's amazing how many people think they're a purely satanic symbol...and infuriating.

I am very well aware that pentagrams are not satanic, however, the Baphomet is which is derived from the pentagram.

isnt the Baphomet a part of wicca that satanism adopted? and satanists do use pentegrams but its mainly just to try and scare christians lol besides hexagrams look heaps better.
it might be eaisyer to just call your character a devil worshiper and look up rituals on that

The little research I have done mentions the Baphomet as their main symbol used in the few rituals they actually do. I didn't see any reference to Wicca but worth looking into. But I did see references to the Knights Templar and Freemasons. Also thrown into the mix is Aleister Crowley.
By the way, I am a Davinci Code nut job as well. I can't get enough of the theories surrounding the Holy Grail.
Using pentagrams to scare Christians is, I think, a bad stereotype of your typical Hollywood Satanists.

Depending on how your display a pentagram, its meaning changes. The symbol with one of its points projecting upwards can be imagined as man’s body with arms and legs extended, and is a symbol of the dominance of the divine spirit over matter. A reverse pentagram with two points projecting upwards is a symbol of evil and attracts what some believe is sinister forces because it overturns the proper order of things and demonstrates the triumph of matter over spirit. The two upper points traditionally suggest the horns of the devil. Good luck.

my mates family is all wiccan and he was talking bout the Baphomet being a part of the wiccan religion that was then used in satanism (alot of satanism is taken from other occult religions, leyton avy (or what ever the hell his name is im not a good speller) has been accused of stealing from many religions and occultists including Aleister Crowley). as for scaring christians with pentagrams and stuff, trust me satanists love to scare and piss off christans in any way possible, iv got 3 satanist friends and was seriously considering it myself, the church of satan acctualy built a satanic church next to a christian one here in australia (satanists dont even worship at churches or hold rituals there lol)

I'm not sure about the Star of David reference, but in doing research for my latest thriller, THE HADES PROJECT (the publisher incorporated a pentagram on the cover), I found that the symbol was the official seal of the city of Jerusalem for a time.

Personally, I'm a Reformed Satanist. I like to kill the children and fuck the animals instead of the other way around.

I use my pentegram to scare Christians. But that's not a typical Pagan activity, that's just me and my love to mess with people.
I remember reading somewhere that the Star of David was originally five-pointed and was later changed to a six-pointed version. Anyone else know anything about that?
Have you looked into LaVey? If you want creepy, he'd be a good character model.
Bonne chance!
